The primary use for TheraPutty appears to involve physical therapy. However, it’s a great tool for grip training. I like HeavyGrips, heavy rubber balls, and tennis balls. However, TheraPutty allows you to check whether you’re using your full grip equally and offers flexibility in exercises, down to individual digits and thumbs. For instance, you can’t train your extensors with a gripper. It’s either squeeze and hold for duration or squeeze and release in repetitions. With the putty, you can push your fingers in and extend or work your thumbs as hooks. You can do the rehabilitative loops for flexors and extensors, squeeze until your fingers touch your palm, and even use it for resistance for fist formations such as the Phoenix eye fist (extend first knuckle like you’re pressing an elevator button) or the leopard’s paw. After a few weeks of constant use, I now can close the elusive larger grippers (250 lbs.) a few times. It’s also great to strengthen hands and wrists for things like hitting a heavy bag or lifting large skillets or yard work. Probably good for golf or baseball. I can’t think of a sport or martial art that doesn’t benefit from better grip strength: Judo, boxing or badminton. Automation also has contributed to relative declines in grip strength, which leads to poor gripping for work or sport and can contribute to injuries. The convenience of the 4 oz. package and the exercises makes this an add-on activity. If you’re not rehabilitating, and possibly if you are, you can use it on walks, while watching television, while on the phone, or while watching your kids’ sporting events.

Great product. I bought the multi pack that starts out with a very soft putty and progressively increases to the firm putty. I ordered the x-firm as the next step in my attempt to increase my hand strength. It’s a great tool. I’m disappointed in the marketing photos that show a much larger amount of putty than I received. I didn’t realize that I ordered the 2oz size. It’s not large enough for my large size hands. I’ve ordered a larger size putty, but I wish the marketing team would make it clear that the 2oz size is for those with small hands.

I’ve been buying this for a few years now to help manage my anxiety. It’s the ONLY strength of putty that is effective enough. That being said... When other people ask to “see what it’s like,” most of them say it’s too tough. Take that in to consideration. The elasticity and toughness do wear off. Like I said, I’ve bought this a couple times. In my experience, it starts to lose its strength after about 9 months.. It also starts to get an odor after about the same amount of time. I use it almost every day. Another thing I’m VERY impressed with is that I’ve never had this dry out!

This is the firmest of the hand putty that is listed. While it is not for everyone, it does provide a higher level than most others. A excellent if you want to really challenge yourself. A great product.

This putty is pretty tough and works very well for hand strength. I had a stroke in Feb. 2022 and I am able to use the very tough outta to get my hand back to normal again so this putty will absolutely help with getting my hand to feel normal again. I do recommend this putty for tho who need to get hand grip back to almost normal to back to normal.
