Good quality - exact replacement for the current capacitor. Took about 15 minutes to replace and as soon as the AC unit was put back together and power was turned back on the house was cooling once again.

Reaplaced my old Goodman B94578700 with this capacitor and it works perfectly! Great price and is even able to handle a little bit higher loads while still maintaining its 370vac. All in all a win! Easy to diagnose and replace. I'm no hvac tech by any means but this was pretty easy to diagnose and repair! Works great!

I’m kicking myself a bit for not having a spare capacitor on hand for what happened to us over the weekend. We were celebrating our grandson’s first birthday and had a crowd in the house on one of the hottest days yet this year. Right about the time my Wife got into an argument with my Mom (can’t have a party without some family drama) I noticed that the A/C wasn’t working. So I did what anyone would do and called my HVAC contractor who I have a service agreement with. Since it was Saturday I got an answering service, after waiting for an hour for a call back I called them back only to find out that the earliest they could come out was Tuesday, three days later. That obviously wasn’t going to work as the temperature was just going to get hotter. These capacitors last anywhere from 5-7 years (according to my research after the fact) and mine was 8 years old. After spending an hour troubleshooting my A/C I noticed that the compressor would try to come on with a fairly loud hum and then quit. I recalled that I had a similar problem with my older A/C after paying for an HVAC contractor to come and change the 14 dollar part for a $200 service call (price from about 10 years ago). I killed the power, opened the service panel and found the old capacitor (shown in the pictures). After a fruitless search for something I could go pick up locally I found this jewel on Amazon with a 1 day delivery. With a houseful spending the night I went ahead and ordered it based on the technical specs you will find on your old capacitor (mine was a 30/5 micro farad capacitor and the BOJACK unit matched my old one exactly). I took some pictures of the connections and removed the old one. I have a multimeter that measures capacitance and after watching a video found online determined that my old one was toast. I received the BOJACK unit about 24 hours later (interior house temperature of 87 degrees!) and quickly installed it. Keeping my fingers crossed I turned on the power and waited for the compressor to kick on, and it did. Saved myself a bunch of money! So if your A/C unit is running (fan blowing) but it is not cooling, shut the breaker, wait 5 minutes and re-energize the power to the unit. Standing next to your compressor wait 5 minutes and listen for a loud hum but not the typical tinny sound of a compressor running. This is a dead give away that your capacitor is done. I went ahead and ordered a second capacitor so that I have a spare one the next time this happens. If I had done that to begin with I would have had it fixed in fifteen minutes, it’s that easy to replace folks. Pleased with this purchase and would recommend.

If you call someone to fix your air conditioning you will learn what the word scammer means. First they will tell you your system is too old and must be replaced.. This is a lie. Most units were built with a fifty year life expectancy. Call them out on it! They may say your system needs a recharge. This is also a lie and your air conditioning will fail again soon afterwards because they do this recharge badly, on purpose, by over pressuring it and pumping air into the system so it will fail. Call them out on it! The starting capacitors do fail sometimes, and they may actually find that problem and replace it. For about $200, and they will use a substandard or underrated capacitor that will fail within the next year. No warranties. Ha ha ha! Please pay again for us to temporarily fix it or buy one of our new $8000 system for “peace of mind”. Call them out on it! This is a bojack… who cares about the name… capacitor rated perfectly for my, and many other ac units. Before this, I had the original eight year old capacitor replaced by an underrated cheapo $15 capacitor (I looked it up). This was supplied and installed for $200 by a local company called Hurlburt. A company with huge billboards all over town. Those signs must have cost a lot, imagine if they spent more money on quality and less on shouting down the competition with billboards? Ha! That’s a fantasy. They’re scammers, so quality is only a catch phrase for luring in people to scam them. Anyway, after telling me that my eight year old air conditioning is way too old and needs replacing, and me not falling for it, he replaced the capacitor with one that failed after three months of use. After reading up on the subject and learning a lot about HVAC, most of which I didn’t know or need to know, this time I did the work myself. It’s super easy barely an inconvenience. It’s like replacing a coil on a car or a big capacitor in a pinball machine. Disconnect. Reconnect. You need a screwdriver and maybe a pliers and a crescent wrench. I laugh at myself now for being scared of it! This allegedly outdated and expired nine year old ac unit has been going regularly and working perfectly now for some time, I check the cap often and it reads well within spec and hasn’t bulged or leaked like the one supplied by the “professional” service. Go figure! Do it yourself and save some money. If it blows, you can buy six replacements for the cost of one “professional” service call. Or let the scammers take you for a ride. Your choice.
