Compact, Quiet, and Reliable — Perfect for Small Water Features
I bought the PULACO 50GPH 3W Mini Submersible Water Pump to replace an older pump in my tabletop fountain, and I couldn’t be happier with it. Right out of the box, it felt well-made despite its small size, and setup was incredibly simple — just plug it in, submerge it, and it’s ready to go. The pump runs whisper-quiet, which is exactly what I needed for an indoor setup. You can hear the gentle trickle of water from the fountain without any mechanical hum in the background. The adjustable flow control is a great feature — I was able to fine-tune the water stream for the perfect sound and movement. Even though it’s tiny, it’s surprisingly powerful for 3 watts. It easily circulates water in my fountain, and I’ve also tested it in a small hydroponic system where it performed flawlessly. It doesn’t overheat, and I’ve run it continuously for weeks without any drop in performance. Cleaning is quick and easy — the front cover pops off so you can remove any debris that might get inside. Plus, the included tubing and suction cups make installation flexible and stable, so you can position it exactly where you want. For the price, this pump is a fantastic value. It’s durable, efficient, and perfect for tabletop fountains, small aquariums, hydroponics, or even DIY projects. I’ll definitely buy another if I set up more water features.

A useful little pump
I purchased this pump to help with doing weekly aquarium water changes. The pump is small and the suction cups allow for easy attachment to the glass inside the aquarium. There is a variable speed setting, but I always use it at the max speed. It takes a few minutes to pump 3.5 gallons of water into or out of the aquarium. It is fairly quiet. Issues: - When pumping water back into the tank, I need to put the bucket of new water on a chair, at about the same level as the aquarium. The pump doesn't seem have enough power to push the water up into the tank if the bucket is on the floor. - The hose initially had some kinks due to how it was packaged, but after using it for several water changes, the hose has returned to a normal shape and it doesn't show any issues now. - One time the pump briefly stopped working, but that appeared to be due to sucking in some debris and wasn't the pump's fault. Flushing it out with some water cured the problem. For the price, it's an OK pump. I just wish it had a bit more power so that it could pump water up from the floor level into the aquarium.

Great little water pump!
Have been using this tiny water pump 24/7 for at least a month. It has been completely reliable and takes up very little space in my small waterfall.

Update on Second Pump - Spicy Water!
I ran this pump in a toad, snail and plant filled pond for two years. I used the hose to jet it clean once in a while and it’s worked great all this time running non stop. The water flow on high is surprisingly powerful for such a small pump, and it makes a nice soothing sound on low setting over rocks. Update June 2024 on my second pump purchased March 2024. I went to clear some weeds from the water surface today and thought something had bitten me, nope, the water was electrified! Immediately unplugged, all trust in submersible pumps is gone now! Pump and wire look fine but something went wrong! The only thing that broke it was cat hair getting into the pond and choking it, making it stop and burning out the motor, my bad for grooming pets near it. Instantly went to buy another as it was such a good pump for a great price.

Does not meet specifications
My first photo shows the pump in a pan of water with a level right at the top of the output tube. The second shows the lift when the flow is set to min and the third shows the lift with the flow set to maximum. If you zoom in on the ruler in the third photo you can see that the water is barely reaching 9 1/2 inches. The description says the lift should be 24 inches. This is clearly not possible given what is visible in the third photo. I am keeping this regardless since I have a project where a lift of less than 6 inches is good enough. Just be careful when you purchase a low flow pump. This one may not be the right one for you.

It just works
Had this running for almost 3 years straight now inside a vivarium. I take it out and clean every once in a while, and it just keeps going.
