Not the lightest, but built to last.
Really love this chair. I dont have to hike this chair much further than from the car to the camp, so the extra weight and bulk vs more lightweight collapsible rigs isn't a concern for me. What I was looking for was a more traditional flat seat vs the cocoon seating of a collapsible. For me, the flat seat is just more comfortable, and the arm rests more substantial. I add a small seat cushion to this, and its relatively homestyle comfy. I've had this chair for a couple years now and taken it on dozens of trips. It's been banged around and sat in by people all over the weight scale, and it's still working great. If you dont mind the little extra weight, and dont needed an especially compact chair, this well made little guy is a great way to go. Hope this helps!

Camping chair
Gci wilderness chair. Awesome except would be nice if they offered another one with the same features but taller. Very low to the ground. After researching other chairs this by fair the best. Light. Recline. Pocket and cup holders. Head pillow. Very sturdy high quality. Tent material. My brother very happy with his gift!

Great Quality Chair
I researched beach chairs for weeks before deciding on this one. It seems to be very sturdy. Its comfortable and looks good. A couple of things however - the shoulder straps are annoying, get tangled up and cannot be removed if not needed. Also, for some reason the 'legs', i.e. horizontal pipes it rests on, are very slippery on sand. I usually have to dig a little trench and secure. And, last but not least, it is heavy compared to other beach chairs. Am guessing the sturdiness and quality are the reason for this. Overall happy with the purchase.

Super comfortable! Highly recommend!
Great chair! Love that you can recline it in 4 different positions. The backpack-like straps make it really easy to carry around, especially if you’re also carrying other stuff with you and don’t want to make multiple trips. The pillow feels like a brick but you can move it out of the way, which is really nice! Overall, great investment!

Not at this price
GCI has a deserved reputation for some of the best frame work in camping chairs. Their stuff lasts forever. But buyers need to go gentle on the stitching (no bouncing babies; no romantic lap-sitting; no dropping of heavy coolers) -- and be careful to line up the seat and frame before folding. The stitching sometimes just ... rrrrips out!

This thing is great. I weigh 300 and this supports me no problem. In and out at the beach and I never thought it would break like some other chairs. I really like the wood armrest. I do also like the backpack design when folded and being able to use the pouch for a big towel. Would buy again.

Second chair faltered after 11 months of use; the first only lasted a few months
UPDATE 9/5/22: CGI's customer service kindly replaced my chair (the new one being an improved model, which I was excited to receive), however, after less than a year of casual use, I sat down one day and the chair completely ripped at the seams on the left side and I fell straight through the chair (damage shown in second picture). I really want to love this chair (I do when it's functioning), but as others have stated, there's a shelf-life with these chairs and I'll now be looking for a third chair in less than 18 months. I'm 175 - way under the 250lb limit they claim this chair has, so there has to be some sort of design flaw. I'm happy to update my review if CGI makes right by this because I truly do love this chair and friends who try it do as well... but dang, this is getting frustrating. I hate to say it, but you're probably better off buying a Tommy Bahama beach chair, to be honest. ---- I’ve had this chair for only a few months and haven’t used it much, but it’s starting to bust / come apart at the seams near where you sit. I’m not a big guy (5’10, 175lbs) and would think this chair could support me, but I guess not. Pretty ridiculous. Not sure if I received a bad chair or what, but I’m the company will see this message and help with replacement or exchange.

Can someone explain to me how to put it on my back because to me, this is a terrible design! It goes on at The shoulders Side, not the top, and when I clip it it clips at my neck and strangled me. This is the first time I’ve tried to take it on a little file and I can’t figure it out. Can’t take it back because it was a gift for Christmas! We got 3- chairs From 3 Different companies and they all worked A Charm but this one. Any suggestions??
