Makes life much easier for both you and your dog after surgery ...
After multiple litters, our rescued 24 lb Beagle was going in to be spayed. The vet provided an e-collar/cone after surgery. However, because Beagles are notorious for rejecting cones, she strongly suggested we get a recovery suit. Amazon delivered the suit the day before she went in for surgery. After bringing her home, it took us a few minutes to figure out which side was which and how to fit it on her. The material is a bit stretchy which helps and the large size fit her very well. She didn't seem to have any problems with her bathroom breaks and while she occasionally sniffed around the incision, she didn't try to lick or bite at it. It was easy to un-snap and re-snap the suit to check her incision for the first few days. After that, the incision was healing nicely and the sedatives kept her and her "sister" Vizsla from doing their typical hurdles over the furniture. We only needed it for about 10 - 14 days but it was well worth the cost since it avoided a frustrated dog and an even more frustrated family. From a cost/benefit standpoint, recovery suits deliver very good value and this item delivers good quality and does the job nicely.

Amended review after using 3 weeks - Best produce I have ever used with my dog
My 85 lb golden retriever had multiple lumps removed on both sides and her rear. The e-collar was not an option since she is a therapy dog and is around very young children. She would knock them down with a hard "funnel" around her head. In preparation for her surgery I bought two different surgical vests on Amazon. This vest is by far more favorable. 1-EASY TO PUT ON: the dog's legs don't have to be manipulated to get in the leg holes. There are multiple snaps down the spine but not that difficult to manage. Also, thank goodness , no velcro. 2-LIGHT WEIGHT and FLEXIBLE: living in the humid south light weight is a must. The material expands easily and is form fitting. 3-EASY FOR DOG TO URINATE AND OR POOP: the lower portion of the vest does not have to be adjusted to allow my dog to relieve herself. That's a big plus since when wearing the other vest she had an accident before I was able to make the necessary adjustment. For male dogs the vest is marked where the hole is to be cut out. 4-FORM FITTING: My golden retriever is a bit overweight at 85 lbs but the vest fits well. It's nice to have something that works for a large dog. 5-EASY TO CLEAN: I washed it in the gentle cycle of the wasing machine and air dried. I ordered two more vests since she has to wear the vest daily in public and needs to be clean. It has to be washed every day since she loves to roll on the ground (either dirt or grass). 6-MY DOG LIKES IT: she doesn't try to take it off 7-THE VEST WORKS: when wearing the vest, she doesn't bother her wounds, when I took it off for a while she started licking I noticed in another review that one person said that it came unsnapped. My golden loves to run into a roll on the grass, dirt, whatever and she does this rolling everyday. In the three weeks that she wore the vest 23/7 not once did the vest come unsnapped.

Works well but sizing can be a bit tricky.
My review is very similar to a lot of the other ones I’ve read, but I figured I’d offer my honest assessment anyway. First off, it does its job in keeping my 42lb golden doodle from licking her stitches. She seems pretty comfortable in it and it seems to be a good fit around the shoulders and front to back. The negatives are that it is definitely loose around her belly area (we got the 2XL) and she would definitely pee on it if we left it on. I would recommend getting one well in advance of the surgery date to make sure it fits well and give yourself time to exchange it if you need a different size. Being that we take it off when she goes out, there are way too many snaps. I get it, the snaps definitely keep it secure but it is challenging to get it back on her when we bring her back in. In the end it’s still way better than a cone and worth the price.

Great Onesie - Can’t Go By Sizes!
I have bought and returned probably 10 of these, searching for just the right product to keep diaper wraps on for my 8.5 lb. chubby male Chihuahua, Yoda, 9 years old. I already have a brand I am able to use on both my 19 lb. male Shih Tzu, Charlie, just turning 12, and my 38 lb. female Black Lab mix, Dani, just turning 10 — the SurgiSnuggly. The Medium (Charlie) and the Large (Dani) fit them both perfectly. But when I tried getting a SurgiSnuggly for Yoda, I hit a snag — the SurgiSnuggly is just not stretchy enough for my chubby little boy. Following the measurements, the XS was right measurement-wise, but he like a sausage about to explode, and getting it off was traumatic. So I tried the small, which was a little too long, but here again, it was a little better but still small around. I ordered different brands and I simply don’t know who writes these up, but UPS now knows me as I’m coming through the door with onesies. When I received the large in this (measurements for a Chihuahua?) I had to laugh — poor Yoda was in a sack with his head sticking out. I put in for a return, but liked the fabric so much, I decided to take a chance with the small — it was definitely stretchy enough. I decided to order the medium for Charlie to have a spare and waited to return the large until I knew if I was going to have to return one or both of the other two. Well, HOORAY! Perfect fit for both Yoda and Charlie!! They have snaps, but truly, you just have to slide the back legs out and roll it up and remove the diaper for them to do their business! I can’t use a wrap diaper for a female, but Dani was found housebroken, so not an issue. She does have some anxiety issues — I adopted her from Hurricane Harvey in Texas and she was an emotional wreck. But that has gotten much much better. I’m sure if the time comes I’ll figure it out. But I decided to try the large on Dani and, believe it or not, perfect fit! And they look very classy in the gray! SO I wrote all this to give an indication of which size actually fits what size dog for this product. Ignore the chart and use my review!! Aside from Yoda, both Dani and Charlie are average build. I’ve attached pictures. I hope this helps someone after I was tortured in this process! You’re welcome!

Super Body.
