Q: Is the seal on the bottle supposed to look like a piece of tape? When I opened the box, I could smell the vanilla....which makes me question the seal

My seal looked like tape, if I remember correctly and it was fine. However I didn't smell the vanilla when I opened the box. I take a tsp of this with a tsp of brown in my cookies. Delicious. Great in tapioca too!

Q: Is this real vanilla?

no, it is not. Look at the ingredient list: Water, Alcohol, Vanillin, Celulose, Artificial flavors, Sugar. There is no vanilla extract. I bought this for less than a dollar in a Puerto Plata supermarket. There is no way they could make pure vanilla extract this cheap.

Exactly what my Dominican cake recipe needed....

I was looking for that "secret" ingredient that adds the unique taste to Dominican cakes and this was it. Used it in the batter and the merengue frosting. Cake came out delicious. The aroma alone brings back childhood memories.

I love this vanilla!!!

I've never had any problems when I buy this product. It is always on time and it smells like Dominican vanilla. I use it for baking whenever a recipe calls for vanilla, and love the taste/smell. I don't buy regular store bought vanilla anymore. Yes this one costs a little more but I use it wisely 😁

You will not be disappointed

This is the best vanilla. Although it is not a true PURE vanilla, it is a bold and rich vanilla flavor that really accents desserts.

100% best Dominican vanilla. I'm constantly checking when it comes on sale here on Amazon since I hardly go to DR anymore, when it's on here it's so convenient, I buy 2 to 3 at a time.

A disgrace, do not buy this!

I loved Dominican Republic Vanilla, it was the best. There is a lot of pastry cooks history in my family, and I grew up smelling and tasting desserts all my life, and I can say this is a disgrace and a shame. This is a rip off, Dominican Republic Vanilla does not taste even close to this poor quality, watery product.Even when I know the real price of the vanilla I decided to pay the ridiculous amount of money, because I’m not at home anymore.This people who ever they are, are doing a great damage to an awesome product.DO NOT buy this, it is a shame. I cannot believe someone have the face to sale this.I promise I will do anything from people to fall for this.

Wonderful flavor for all my recipes that needs vanilla

My father in law was from Dominican Republic, he used to buy me the white vanilla. Since he passed away I didn't have anyone to buy it for me at the island. Well I decided to look for it in Amazon.
