Works really well, don't rush, have good dust extraction, feels safe.
Great bit of kit. I used this to lower a concrete patch on a new floor, with a latex screed on top that was too high. I spent around 3-4 hours grinding the floor down so I can get a thin layer of screed to fill in the larger dips and bumps in the concrete. I did pause for 20 mins every so often to allow the vacuum and the grinder to cool down. With the grinder moving slowly and not much downwards pressure i would take a about 2mm off at a time, around 20mm wide in 1 pass. Left to right was about 60cm. The screed was quite hard and would take a few passes to get rid of it, I did get down to the concrete with 10mm aggregate in and it manged this ok, though i didn't ned to go right into it. Used on a Draper 4.1/2" (115mm) grinder, fitting with no problems. I used a Henry vacuum plumbed through a Cyclone dust extractor into a large 25ltr bucket to catch the dust. I probably got around 10-15ltrs of dust from the bucket, too heavy to go in 1 black bag. It is a really fine dust that come off and if you don't have a cyclone to catch it, you WILL be emptying the vacuum every 5 mins. This is not a fault of the machine, it is how it grinds the concrete away. I could tell when the vacuum filter was getting clogged, the dust would start coming out from the grey sliding plastic section of the dust cover and i knew it was time to clean the filter of the vacuum. During the work the grinder gets hot, if you put to much pressure on the grinder and making it work to quickly - you WILL damage it - cooking the armature or even damaging the gearbox, a old - well used grinder is more likely to fail. If this happened to any of the other reviewers its probably user error, not the grinding disc. The metal gearbox that the disc attaches too will get hot, I would recommend wearing gloves due to the heat, you wont be able to touch it with bare hands after a long periods of being used. Gloves also help with vibration. I had no issues with the dust extractor, making sure it was pushed as far as it would go onto the grinder, it never came undone while grinding the floor and the flexible extractor hose worked really well, it also fits my other sanders. The grinding disc diamond teeth had lost a little more than half of the original depth after I was finished. I did not loose any teeth and the balance was good. It will give you the sensation of a 'tingly' hand, this will happen while using any hand tool for long periods of time, wear gloves. This will usually pass after a few hours. *Picture* The area in blue is the overall area, grinding to a feather edge out to the concrete. The yellow area is the deep grinding area up to 4-5mm thick. Overall Im really glad I bought the tool, it did exactly what I wanted and i'm impressed with the build quality. Treat your tools with respect and they will last.

Good bit of kit
So good even my builder borrowed it to sort something out when he was here laying slabs and needed to grind something off. Dust extraction is good as well.

Extraction
Duncurin was faced with grinding an old but newly-renovated concrete conservatory floor and overnighted by Amazon were the Makita angle grinder, diamond cup disc, both reviewed and I also chose this dust collector. This wasn’t my first choice as I had chosen one made by Makita which although more expensive was, I thought, worth it as I knew it would definitely fit. The Makita shroud however wasn’t available for a few days and I was keen to get on with the horrendous job in hand that I didn’t relish. The specs on this dust shroud assured me that it would fit the Makita and this was perfectly true. It took me a couple of minutes and a secure fit was produced that didn’t foul the angle grinder or the diamond cup disc and yet at least did its best to form a bit of a seal with the floor and with extraction reduce some of the dust. The spacer that comes with it was also essential as the diamond cup failed to lock down properly in the angle grinder without it. The vacuum hose fitted without trouble though I must confess to having used some duct tape or duck tape or whatever it’s called to form a tight seal and to ensure that the hose did not come away – actually it did this once and the dust even with the shroud is ferocious but without it the dust takes on Biblical proportions. The hose coming away is actually quite useful as you then realise that this little shroud is actually doing a good job but please whatever you do – expect a lot of dust. The wet and dry 16 litre vacuum I have which is designed for dust needed me to use the optional dust bags which filled within minutes and needed changing. Not using the bags would have blocked the standard filter within minutes and destroyed the machine. All in all then, this is an ideal and relatively inexpensive way of reducing the amount of dust that is cast out. It is cheaper than the Makita one, but fits perfectly and easily. It was also delivered more quickly which for me was the real clincher. Photo shows Makita grinder with shroud attached and the hose for the vacuum nearby.

Long lasting grinding wheel and excellent dust extraction.
Worked perfectly levelling the concrete door base on my double garage. I needed to remove between 2mm and 10mm of concrete so the door gap was even for a seal to be fitted. The grinding wheel easily removed the excess across an 300mm wide x 6m long strip and the dust extractor captured 99.9% of the dust. Once I’d finished, the cutting wheel was still in very good condition and had plenty of life left. One thing to note is you’ll need a good vacuum cleaner (I used a Henry) and lots of bags as they clog up very quickly with the fine dust!

Excellent dust shroud
The dust shroud massively reduced the amount of dust when grinding a concrete floor. The front opens up which meant I could get right up to the wall. It comes with various parts to allow it to fit and angle grinder. It easily fit my DeWalt angle grinder although I did have to remove the guard stop bolt on the grinder but once attached it stayed put and didn't require any further adjustment. I attached it to a cheap vacuum ( from Screwfix). Very happy with this purchase and would not hesitate to recommend it.

Does not fit on Parkside PWS 125 G6 angle grinder due to the non standard head of the grinder.
