Shalimar 3 Oz Edt Sp

I've worn Shalimar perfume for years because of the compliments I still get, and because it smells different on everyone that wears it. A friend loves it on me, so she purchased some, but it didn't smell the same on her. I believe a perfume scent depends on how the perfume blends with our bodies own chemistry. I still get asked, "What's the name of that perfume?" People are shocked to know it's Shalimar. It remains popular to this day, unlike many others that came after this one. I've tried many perfumes over the years, but come back to this one. Shalimar is not flowery, or heavily flowery and girly, as many of today's newer perfumes are. Even my 20 year old granddaughter loves Shalimars soft, clean, light vanilla scent that gently stays with you, without overpowering. The "cologne" variety of this brand isn't the same (to me) at all, nor does it last. I highly recommend buying only the actual Shalimar perfume. Just a little is needed. Amazon prices are less costly than the big Dept stores, so buy it here! It arrived fast, and safe, in a large lovely glass bottle that looks pretty on my perfume tray. Worth every cent..

So, this scent. Wow. Not what I expected. I have never smelled Shalimar before, so purely out of curiosity because of its place as one of the oldest (circa 1921) perfumes still widely available, I ordered this—who doesn’t want to know what the roaring 20s smelled like? I had heard it was powdery, and this is true—you get hit by a sort of powdery smell at first, but the rest of the scent is inexplicable—after that powdery kick, you get this smell kind of like a strong men’s musk, combined with an acrid scent like aftershave, followed by a burning wood/incense smell. I’ve read that some people LOVE this perfume, so I can’t bash it...just not my taste. I am a fan of Chanel Chance, Mademoiselle, Davidoff Cool Water, Elizabeth Arden Green Tea...none of these are anything like this scent. Shalimar is heavy and somewhat masculine. I gave this a five star rating because it shipped very quickly, was affordable and was exactly as promised in pristine packaging. A quality product, the scent just was not for me.

This is an old scent 1920/30 ish. It is an oriental woody one. That sounds dull but this is expensive and gorgeous. I have to wear it for the whole day. It is indispensable. You have to wait to get it but it’s worth it and so are you. There’s also matching shower gel and a body lotion. I tend to stockpile them so I always have some to wear. Spoil yourself.

My wife says this is the genuine product and is happy. Need I say more
