Will monitoring the temperature of a heated space help save energy bills? - A work in progress.
I bought this recording thermometer to monitor the temperature of a church hall that is for various community activities. My role is to programme the heating system so that users are warm which means switching on the heating before a session starts but not too early as this would waste expensive heating gas. I have programmed the device to measure the temperature every 10 minutes. The exercise is still in progress so I do not know what I have learnt so far. I will examine the data after a week of monitoring and adjust the switch on (and off) times accordingly and then reassess (i.e. repeat) the process. I am tempted to purchase a second monitor so that I can compare external temeperature with the internal temperature. Seems very good value but it is still a work in progress.

Not compatible for Mac. Temperature reading way off
This is useless without a computer but two serious flaws in my view. First, the website doesn't have a secure certificate so you can't be sure the software you're downloading is legitimate. Second, it doesn't have an Apple certificate so it won't run on a modern Mac unless you want to override the security settings. So I can't install the software... but then comparing the unit readout to two other measurements it seems to be at least 3 degrees out as well. Fails on every level of usability so it's going back!
