Runaway Bike Molybdenum Disulfide Powder / 2 oz. / Applicator Brush Included

Product is top quality. Bottle is LOADED to the top of the bottle. I don't like bashing other products unless they deserve it but a similar competitor (of molybdenum powder) that cost me $10 for 0.1oz (Yes, not a typo, zero point one ounces!) versus $17 for 2.0oz (also not a typo, two point zero ounces) of Runaway Bike! The Runaway Bike bottle being at least times larger in volume and the powder is full to the brim. The smaller bottle is MAYBE 1/2 full. I'm certain I am receiving 8x the product (at least) for $7 more dollars. The product is really good. Bob and Doug (owners I would assume) seem genuine when asking for your customer reviews and they even sent a really nice Large T-shirt for free. I'm going to contact them to see if I can BUY a different size because this one doesn't fit but if even 10% of companies put out this kind of effort, WE CUSTOMERS would be plentifully rewarded. Best customer support I've seen in a long time and I've never deserved it for any other reason than just making a purchase. The product is great. I use it on EVERYTHING that requires a dry lube. Molybdenum is an even better dry lubricant than powder graphite because of it's lower friction coefficient but just as easy to use. (Note: If using in extremely high heat applications, be sure to check melting points and do not substitute Molybdenum powder for Graphite blindly.) I'll likely put some in a small bottle so I can fit it into tight places. The brush that comes with is of good quality but is not attached to the lid as you might expect. The bristles are very soft and pick up the powder with ease. I use it on my RC car and RC plane, my woodworking tools where I do not want to attract dust with a regular wet lubricant. It works great on bikes too of course. Molybdenum powder is so versatile. Do yourself a favor and spend the $17 to get an abundant amount and you'll likely find yourself using it as a preventative as well as a lubricant. I've purchased tiny quantities of graphite for double the price and I figured this was just going to be a big dark blue bottle filled just enough to cover the bottom. Like I said, if Bob and Doug were in charge of more, we'd be better off as their customers. It is rare to receive this immense ammount of appreciation from me. I haven't given my bike in 5 years but my kids do. I assure you that this product has many more applications than just bike lubrication. I'm going to peruse their other products because doing business with Runaway Bike has proven to be a really good investment for me. Just to clarify my photos, the purple bottle is Runaway Bike's and the smaller bottle is a molybdenum dry lubricant competitor. The image inside the Runaway Bike bottle depicts a bottle packed from bottom to top (no air pockets taking up volume) with molybdenum powder. The top image of the competitor's bottle shows a bottle MAYBE half full. $10 for the competitor's, $17 for Runaway Bike. I do not know Bob or Doug but will email them to let them know I am grateful to receive such a great product. Lastly, an approximation calculation to compare apples to apples at how much of a savings Runaway Bike is, $2 per cubic inch of molybdenum powder for Runaway Bike and over $14 per cubic inch of the competitors. A 7-fold savings is hard to beat.

Used this product to make a paraffin-based chain lube for my bicycle, along with the company's PTFE Powder. This quality product worked perfectly to my need, and at a great price. Product arrived incredibly well packed...in three zip lock bags for safety! The seller states they are "a small company trying to compete with big-name manufacturers by simply making better quality products." They hit this high mark, and I wouldn't hesitate to buy more products from them. If you're making your own chain lube, these are the people to buy your ingredients from.

Added.to my paraffin bicycle chain lube pot. The powder is very fine and is easy to mix. Tried the first chain yesterday, and believe this to be an excellent product. As.an experiment, I brushed some powder on an old bike's cable to see if it made any difference. Bingo! The old shift cable immediately worked better than new. I'm going to experiment on using this in several applications,, adding it.to oils and greases. It may solve problems with several automotive issues with cables and carburetor parts.

I bought this, as well as the PTFE powder from the same brand. I used the Friction Facts recipe: * 1lb of household paraffin wax (1 block of Gulf) * 5g of pure PTFE (Teflon) powder * 1g of pure molybdenum disulfide (MoS2). I bought the cheapest slow cooker I found find on Amazon, and measured the quantities using a digital gram scale. I did not bother with the ridiculous cleaning procedure using an ultrasonic tank. I just shook my chain for a few minutes in a Ball jar with some degreaser and dried with a paper towel. The results are awesome! My chain went an entire month, 630 miles, before getting noisy. The chain stayed clean the entire time, and it feels fast! I measured zero chain stretch during that time. For dry conditions this is probably the best you can do for your chain. Other sellers on Amazon give you way less powder for higher price, so this is the one to buy!

This powder is excellent. I'd not previously used moly powder, but wish I'd known about it years ago. It comes double-bagged and well sealed. My first impression when opening the bags was, "This stuff is slick!" A bit of powder on my fingers makes them slide even better than liquid soap. I decanted the moly powder into a clean (used) spice jar with a shaker lid to sprinkle on the bottoms of my skis when hot waxing them (especially for springtime and artificial snow conditions). I've read that moly powder works even better than graphite. I can believe that this powder would be useful for anything where dry lubrication would be needed. I'm happy to recommend (and use) the product.

Use this product for my home brew chain waxing. Has worked well and worth the investment over ready made products!

Its slippery black powder - pretty much exactly what was advertised. Tastes awful though.

This stuff works great. I combined 1gram of this with 5 grams of Runaway Bike teflon powder and mixed it into 1lb of paraffin wax. After thoroughly cleaning and degreasing my bike chain I dipped it into the hot wax. Chain is super slick with very little noise and looks clean after every ride. On a side note: whoever is running this company Runaway bikes, is really into customer service. Product ships with a handwritten thank you and a sticker. Second side note: if you get tired of using this product on your bike, MBD can be used to develop latent fingerprints.
