IRWIN VISE-GRIP Pliers Set, Slip Joint, 8-Inch (2078408)

Strong well made conventional pliers with excellent grip.

As an Irwin product I expected them to be of high quality. But these pliers exceeded my hopes. They're quite heavy duty, and the characteristic Irwin grips make them comfortable in one's hands. Of importance to me, there is no gap in the riveted joint. I may also purchase the 6-inch size since the larger 8-inch pliers might prohibit their use in confined spaces.

My 2nd pair of these Irwin's. They're sturdy with good handles. This version strikes the balance between light enough to use one-handed, agile enough to use for a small target like pulling a nail, but large enough to usually save me having to go get a wrench. For my adult male (L/XL glove size) hands, larger than this 8" model is awkward, but 6" usually doesn't provide sufficient leverage. So the 8 is just right. My older pair of these are coming up on 3 years old and show no signs of aging (handles still look great). I find I use blunt-nosed pliers a lot more than one would expect for how infrequently they show up in tool-kits. For home DIY and minor repairs I use them a lot more than my needle-nosed AND more than my basic wrenches combined. Irwin has become one of my trusted brands (well-made and reasonably priced). These are Highly Recommended.

Nice but very loose

I bough a very cheap one a while ago and I can see the difference in quality. Alignment is good and I feel more assurance it won't break on me.

I picked up the 8-inch version after loving the 10-inch, and honestly? This one settles the debate. Size really doesn’t matter. Even though it’s smaller, it works like it’s trying to win a competition. Strong grip, solid build, and it squeezes into tight spaces the big guy can’t handle. Performs way bigger than it looks. If you want a compact tool that overdelivers, this is the one. Five stars from me.

For the price I haven't seen a more solid, well constructed set of pliers, I would buy them for the whole fleet, and we used to, but to keep inventory straight we have color coded the trucks. But if you're looking for a solid plier set at a great price, your search ended here. I've purchased these SO MANY times, but not for wear, because they get forgotten and left behind.

These fit in the hand nicely and are well made strong pliers. If I don't lose them they will last a lifetime.

Faz tempo eu estava em busca desse alicate específico e o encontrei. Demorou um bom tempinho para chegar, mas, valeu cada centavo. Irwin é outro nível. Me lembro do meu primeiro alicate Irwin que ganhei de presente do meu pai a 20 anos atrás. Está comigo até hoje e nem parece que foi usado. Para hobbystas é um produto eterno. Não desgasta e não deforma. Vejam o pino de junção dos mordentes, parece uma peça única. Não tem roscas ou encaixes. É perfeito. Mais uma útil ferramenta adicionada ao meu arsenal.
