I recently made a new neck for a late '90's Martin dreadnought. The twice broken headstock and neck needed replacement. I found the original truss rod broken as well. As a luthier, I usually keep several truss rods in stock. With the COVID-19 epidemic in full swing, slowing deliveries and in some cases, stopping them, I ran out and needed a truss rod, Pronto. The design of this rod is simple and effective. It's the same design I use in all of my necks. In fact, I tested the rod without using any key. It moved freely and smoothly in both directions. The rod requires a pocket 1/4" wide and 3/8" deep, which means a 1/4" downcut router bit makes a perfect, snug, channel, that holds the rod perfectly with no need for any glues. The road won't shift, rattle, or slide. This rod is compatible for a long Martin scale neck. The price on Amazon is competitive with my supplier price. I wish they also offered 14.5" truss rods for short scale necks, and shorter for 12-fret guitars.

I've already used this in a guitar. I will order more.

Product arrived rusted. The box was dry on arrival so this may be a warehouse issue. Beware!
