best choice for faux rust finish
first time using this paint . it will always be first on my "to use again" on my projects . What a great product , i needed to recreate iron rust on a 2025 fair entry ,it looks just so real it's hard not to believe it's not real rust . Model or artists looking for a rust finish this is it . it does add a little to surface so allow for texture build up .

Pick something else!!
Sucks, dont waste your money. Doesnt cover well at all and is white not off white. Nozzle jams up constantly, wont spray consistently and ends up leaving splotches and/runs. I should have listened to the other negative reviews. But I was hoping it would turn out a lot better so it ended up being a waste of money from me!

Works great!
About 8 years ago I bought a somewhat expensive Windsor heavy aluminum patio set, 4 chairs and table. The paint on the bases of all 4 chairs were beginning to peel off and look unsightly. I started looking for the proper type paint in the correct color to refurbish the chairs. I found this paint online, searched for availability and ordered 4 cans from Amazon. Upon arrival I was very happy to see the cap color was exactly the right color! I sanded and prepped the chair bases and applied this paint without any primer for the bare aluminum, not all the paint needed repair so I was painting bare aluminum and a previously painted surface. The spray paint went on easily, did not want to run, dried quickly, blended with the old paint and covered amazingly well with one application, but I put on two coats. The final result was a perfect match for the original paint and I defy you to tell the repair from the original, fantastic! The chairs look as good as new. Precautions: As with all aerosol and spray paint read and follow the instructions on the label - before you use it.

Be patient. Specialty textured paint. Buy 2X what you think you need b/c coverage takes a lot
For the most part, Rust-Oleum is one of the best spray paints on the market. They are known for high quality finishes and durability. I bought the Desert Bisque color because it most closely matched the current color of my metal cafe set which came from Costco. The set is: 4 swivel rocker chairs and a square travertine mosaic topped table with metal legs. I didn’t want to drastically change the color, just refresh the paint because the pieces had quite a number of chips. I thoroughly cleaned my furniture first using a power washer and let everything sit and dry for a few days before painting. I also bought one of those trigger-style handles that snaps onto the top of the can. I HIGHLY recommend getting one if you have many, many cans to use. It will save your hand from extensive fatigue. This is an odd paint. It is a textured paint, flat finish and not shiny. The finish feels grainy, like sandpaper but it contains subtle variation within the color. The coverage is quite poor so don’t expect to drastically change the color of whatever it is you’re painting, at least without spending a fortune. I initially bought 6 cans thinking that would be more than enough to paint 4 metal chairs and the metal legs on the table (not the top). I grossly underestimated that quantity! I had to order a second 6-pack to finish the task. It took every bit of those 12 cans to cover the furniture! That was about $120! My furniture looks great but it took a couple of rounds and doing several layers to get the paint to completely cover the surface. This kind of job is not something you do in one day, at least not if you want professional looking results. I was patient and took my time because my lawn furniture is an investment I made when I purchased it and I want to do proper maintenance so it continues to last for many years. Despite this being a different sort of spray-painting experience, for me, I do love the color and the textured surface, though. It helps keep the chair cushions from sliding off the furniture. The set has been exposed to the rain a couple of times since I painted it and it still looks great. I think it’s a unique, specially paint and, ultimately, it does a good job but don’t expect instant results and to be done in one day. It’s definitely different than any spray paint I ever used. The finished product turned out awesome, though.

Great Brand!
We always purchase this brand because it covers better than most others, and comes in such a great variety of finishes and colors!. I just turned a plain old clay pot into a very attractive showpiece for my large fern. I love it!

Don’t drop it.
Had to buy 3 cans to spray a small trash can. But it finally worked. The first time I sprayed it I dropped it in the grass wet so that’s why I took 2 more cans to fix my mess up. But I have some left over so didn’t take 2 while cans at all.

Does not cover
As some reviews stated, this runs out quickly. Had a metal bar stool that the arms were well worn. The can lasted for about half the stool. The paint is so thin if you hold it less than two feet away it will quickly run. Obviously by spraying two feet away much of the spray is going into the air and not hitting the stool. Once dry it did not even cover. You really need to paint the item first with a complementary color and the use this product to add texture. Will need at least three more cans to do two coats. Even then I am not sure it will cover. What a waste of money. Update: After adding another coat the stools looked beautiful. The product dries to a nice finish. Feels like fine sandpaper. While it still did not cover, if you are painting something that is close to the same color you can miss spots on purpose to save on paint and will not be able to tell the difference. I revised my rating to 3 stars to reflect how nice the finished product looks
