Updated version of a beloved childhood toy. Our twin niece and nephew (3yo) love it!
Purchased these for our three year old niece and nephew (twins) who practically ripped the box open when they unwrapped it! It's been fun watching them start to construct things, and especially see them enjoy an updated version of a toy we played with as children of the 1970's! Great for inspiring their creativity and imagination. Shipped quickly and was reasonably priced too!

Great Gift for Any Child of Any Age
I purchased these for my nephew for Christmas. He loves anything he can tinker with and he can sit for hours and play with things like legos, tinker toys, anything he can build. I was driven based off the amount of pieces for the price. I ended up choosing this set because it contains 137 pieces and the price was much lower than some of the other sets available. After I received the item, I realized that the age is 3+. My nephew is 8. With a toy like this, I honestly don't think age matters. With some of the other kits that are designed for 6+, 8+ etc, they may be more complex kits, but I think he will enjoy this one just as much. With 137 pieces he will be able to create the picture shown as well as create other structures as he wants. Lincoln Logs are a staple for any kid. I had them growing up. If you are looking to purchase for a child that likes to build really intricate things, be sure to look at the age group, otherwise, I think this is a great purchase for the average kid who just likes to build.

In particular it doesn't have very many long pieces so it's pretty limited to what you can do
When I was a child we had a set of Lincoln logs we used all the time, I don't know what kit it was but I remember it being more versatile, this is definitely a starter set. In particular it doesn't have very many long pieces so it's pretty limited to what you can do, but the logs work fine and the kit came with instructions for making a couple of different structures. A little advanced for my 3 year old but he enjoys knocking down the houses I build and I hope he will grow into this toy. I preferred the wooden roof slats from my childhood to the plastic ones in this set, but they work ok once you get the hang of putting them on. They do seem to cascade down on each other pretty easily with a nudge but maybe that was the same with the old style, I don't know...all in all this is a good starter set if you're looking for something noise and screen-free to help with fine motor skills and creativity. I will definitely supplement this kit in future if my child enjoys it as he grows.

Recipient received as a xmas gift and it was a big hit! Lots of play value in this, without all the technical wizardry so often found in toys today. Good learning opportunity for young kids to enjoy with their parents or grandparents. When on sale, this is cheaper than Lego.
