Brilliant bit of kit
I love this thing. I have DAB radio in the car but not on my HiFi in my home-office and I've been missing the choice of radio stations on my old FM tuner. Bought this Fitzwilliam to go with an old amplifier and set of speakers I had. Its really easy to set up - I had it playing Internet Radio and looking for DAB stations about 5mins after getting it out of the box. The display panel on the front is bright and clear, and the text is big enough to read easily. FM and DAB reception in my room is not good with the telescopic antenna that comes included. It looks like the screw-type F connector so I should be able to unscrew it and change if for a better one. Connecting to my home WiFi was a breeze. Signal strength is OK but not brilliant compared to other devices in my home-office (laptop, mobile phone), but I don't think the WiFi antenna is changeable so I'm stuck with it. Its good enough for the audio to be clear, just not showing on the display as a strong signal. I like that its got its own volume control because the old amplifier I've connected it to doesn't have a remote control, but the Fitzwilliam does so I can adjust the volume or mute when I have to take a phonecall etc without moving from my desk. Bluetooth is also easy to connect and works like a charm. Same with MP3's on a USB stick. Its got Spotify built in but I haven't played with that yet. All in all I'm very impressed!

Simpler to use than the instruction manual makes you think. The manual is very very precise.
I'm getting older and not so tech savvy as I once was. Reading through the manual (online) before the product arrived got me stressed. It was very clear and step by step, but it was so much information. In fact, when the thing arrives and you start. It's fairly straightforward. I never used the manual. Just followed the instructions on it's little screen. Main thing I would advise others is how to save your favourite. You will work it out yourselves anyway. But you get on the station you want to save first and then hold the favourites button down for as long as it takes. Then scroll down the list to an empty line on the favourites list. Then just push "ok". That's it done. So, for the price, this is a great product and comes with so many options. Internet/FM/DAB/USB/Bluetooth and the connects via RCA to an amp or powered speakers. Even an optical line which could be used with an offboard DAC I suppose. I have one not in use, but I will see how the sound is first. And all this is just back up for me as I normally use the SKY satellite radio stations. Excellent value.

Majority Fitzwilliam 2024.
Absolutely blown away by this Majority Fitzwilliam 2024. Been looking for a while to update my separate system to play Bluetooth and USB music. Hadn't a clue what they would be called in order to search for them, only found the cheap add on little boxes. Then by accident I came across the MF 2024 exactly what I wanted AND much more, in silver and on offer, reduced by £30. To be honest I was sceptical, an unknown make at a knockdown price so I read the reviews. Funny how sometimes the negatives seem to stick more despite its 72% 5* positive. Decision time! Knowing that Amazon offers don't last long I thought just go for it, it can always go back, a bit of a faff but do-able. I opted for Amazon outer packaging as an extra precaution against any knocks or damage in transit, To my surprise it arrived in a large brown paper bag, not a cardboard box but at least it kept the players outer box clean. The players box was well packed with cardboard inside and the player itself was in a cotton bag. The player looks well made and isn't exceptionally light in weight as some have commented. So out with the old dial tuner and in with the new. Internet connected wirelessly (no hadwire port) 3rd attempt but that was a mix of me not understanding some terminology on the player and the instructions being a bit vague, (in my opinion) on this part of set up. There's a retractable ariel for FM and DAB+ which I couldnt raise fully because of my stack shelves so I extended it at 45 degrees across the back of the player to the width of my shelves. Picked up FM and DAB+ no problem. I stored some stations and hit play. The sound is amazing through my amp and speakers, better than anticipated, with options to tweak. I like my bass it has it. The rest is crisp and clear. The USB (up to 128k) plays my tunes well. The Internet radio is fantastic, when combined with Airable (free but requires log in on another device) it's even better, so many worldwide radio stations even some (Saudi) dedicated to individual artists and bands, non stop (Essential). Plus you can search by genre, or whatever, just save on your external device and by magic they are also saved on the player. I can't get enough of the Internet radio. It also does Podcasts but as yet untried as is Bluetooth. There's even a remote control for armchair enthusiasts. In a nutshell to date it's one of the best things I have recently bought. It's upgraded my separates system beyond what I originally wanted it to do but I am so glad it has because it has all the extra functions, and sounds so well. If anything changes I'll let you know. It also comes with a claimable 3 year warranty. Go for it!
