Schlage F10 LAT 622 CEN Latitude Door Lever with Century Trim, Hall & Closet Passage Lock, Matte Black

I recently purchased the Schlage F40 V LAT 622 Latitude Door Lever in Matte Black for my bed and bath, and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed. This door lever not only adds a touch of modern elegance to my home but also delivers on functionality. One of the standout features of this product is its sleek design. I love these Schalge locksets and use them exclusively throughout my home. As one who suffers with carpal tunnel issues, I find that the lever action door handles are much easier to operate than the old "ball" style knobs. The Latitude product line is sleek, contemporary and functional in design, which is exactly in keeping with the design of my home. Installation of the lock took about 5 minutes tops... this is as easy as installing the strike plate (2 screws,) the latch mechanism (2 screws,) and the handles (2 screws.) The latch is secure and works great. A word of caution to users of this and similar locksets... check to make absolutely certain the door is locked or unlocked as is appropriate when closing the door. This lock will always open from the inside, whether it's locked or not. Too often users will close the door, only to find that it's locked from the outside. This has happened to me once. I understand that the idea is to ensure that anyone can safely exit the building without fumbling for locks in the event of an emergency, but it does require that you check the status of the lock by testing the exterior handle before you close the door.

I bought this to use as a temporary (as in for several years use) front door handle for our new (new to us, but actually old) home. The front door area is completely covered so I'm not worried about the elements getting to it. We plan on upgrading our door eventually but we're not sure what kind of door we will be getting yet so I didn't want to put more money into a "fancy" front door handle when I didn't know if it would be compatible with our next door. I just couldn't handle the round brass handle anymore (before and after photo attached). We had already changed out all the locks right when we moved in so this handle was a nice match to our new schlage keyless entry deadbolt. The doorknob was very easy to install, I did it myself in a couple minutes. It comes with clear instructions too if you're new to switching our handles. The hardware updates along with a fresh coat of paint on the front door have really made a huge difference and we'll be much happier living with this door for awhile longer now that it's been refreshed. This handle sits nice and level and feels good in your hand when you open the heavier metal door. We've had no issues with it at all and the finish is even better than I expected. We got it in matte black which I thought would show fingerprints/smudges but it's actually stayed looking very nice and clean and I don't notice marks of any sort on it any sooner than I would on a "normal" color door handle. All in all it looks great, feels great, and works great and we'd highly recommend this lever! We plan on getting more for our home as we gradually update and replace the interior doors as well (they all currently have the same round brass doorknob as well). Great way to give a door a whole new look without spending a whole lot of money.

I bought this to go with the black/bronze Schlage Encode with Century trim. The colors and style match perfectly. And I like having a handle instead of a knob, it looks more elegant—several neighbors have complimented me on it. It’s a sold piece of metal, it doesn’t feel cheap or flimsy like cheap doorknobs. Very happy with it! I did pay a locksmith to switch out my old deadbolt and doorknob, which maybe isn’t necessary if you’re only switch out a doorknob; but since I was also switching out the deadbolt for the Encode, it was definitely worth it to hire a locksmith because installing the smart lock is NOT easy if you ask me. The locksmith also made me 2 extra key copies since the Encode only comes with 1 key, and I had to give my landlord a copy.

I consider Schlage products to be some of the most reasonably priced, high quality products. This lock looks great with a solid finish. Internal workings look to be fairly well made. The lock, when locked, will unlock as soon as you turn the handle. This helps to keep one from being locked out of your home, etc. I do have one gripe: the handle has a good amount of slop and can be wiggled before using it to lock/unlock a door. I'm going to live with it, however, as Schlage locks, at least in my usage, have lasted a long time. Your call.

I love the look of these handles, and they work perfectly. I got some with locks and some without. Both are great! We haven't had any issues with the locks, and they continue to function as they should (knock on wood!) The key is easy to use if a door gets locked accidentally. A friend installed them but he said it was pretty easy. Would definitely purchase again!

The brand is exceptional as is this handle. It’s sturdy and attractive at the same time.

I have been a weiser buyer in the past. Schlage product have been my go to for work. They are strerdy and easy to install. Love this brand and is my go to choice.

Not much to say really, Schlage quality, looks great, cheaper than the local hardware store. I've bought more of these than I can count.
