Petzl Swift E095BA01 Headlamp RL 7.8 W Orange

The Petzl Swift has got to be the best mid-range headtorch you can buy in my opinion. It's bright enough to use on the darkest routes, I use it on totally pitch black roads and trails. It's lightweight too for such a bright torch. I like the fact that it doesn't have a battery pack on the back of the head. That does mean it's slightly bigger on the front I think, but it doesn't cause a problem for me. It doesn't slip or fall down and basically I forget it's even there. The battery level indicator is a great feature. Battery life is really good, I can vouch that a 2 hour run on the full setting can be done easily. I use a little clip on red light for the back of the band, that's the only thing that's missing. The various settings are easy to use. Would throughly recommend.

Bought this in Jan 2024 and just over a year it suddenly stopped working. Contacted the seller and they have been fantastic at sorting the issue out for me. The torch itself is great, I had been given the actik core as a gift previously and have found the battery life is ridiculously short but the swift is lengthy and reliable. The brightness is great too with a few different settings you can have it at. Highly recommend this model and if you can stretch to buy this over the actik core I certainly would.

This review comes in after three years of using the head torch. It's a star buy as it's been perfect, long lasting and super bright. recharging is simple and does not take that long at all. my personal use case is running, it fits well is adjustable, so goes over a hat or bandana Well worth the money!

Perfect for a headtorch it calculates when you need extra light and makes the torch brighter when needed or dims when not needed. Easy to use, comfortable on the head, compact, usb charge which is great for 12v in the campervan.

After using this £68 Petzl Swift RL (reactive lighting) in orange for a few weeks now I must say that it fits my needs, I’ve mainly used this while walking the dogs down some dark lanes, church yard etc, as you do and it’s invaluable for locating the dog mess, enabling two free hands to clear it up. No more faffing with a torch in 1 hand trying to Poopa scoop with the other! The auto lighting feature (the best mode to use it in) is quite cleverly thought out and implemented and does work well, though sometimes gets it wrong but all in all it’s good and I’m quite impressed. Basically if you’re looking close to the ground or at another light (If you look up at the street lights for example it auto dims, clever) the full 900 lumens is not active but look up into the night and you get the full fat 900 which is ample, at least for me it is. I also intend to use this as a head torch for a bit of night time mountain biking, but not tried that yet. Happy with my purchase, oh yes!

I've had this for 2 years now and it's been used for everything from DIY in poorly lit spaces to night time off road running. Super comfortable and easily adjustable strap one you get used to it. Lasts for hours before recharge needed. Well worth the price, this replaced a Hope headtorch which was a bit brighter but cost £200.

Very bright. Good adjustable settings. Easy to use even with gloves on. Some people have moaned about the auto/reactive setting, I personally love it. I don't want to be dazzled by the reflection from a street sign etc. and find this works really well. Only moan is that it is not the easiest of straps to take off to clean, but once you get the hang of it, it's OK to do Battery seems really good so far. Holds well even when running fast.

When you pay a bit extra when buying a Petzl headlamp, the quality goes in before the name goes on. This splendid headlamp does everything you need, its instruction booklet is first class as is Petzl's sturdy packaging. Inside the cardboard double-wrapped carton is a polycarbonate wrap-around insert that protects all the contents. I am very impressed as is my husband who has eyesight problems (until his cataracts are lasered). He loves this 'Swift' version, and he can see so much more clearly without eye strain..
