Great for Younger Super Hero Fans
My son (3) loves super heroes, and I have to give Disney and Marvel credit for creating a series of books that are appropriate for younger fans, who aren't quite old enough for the TV shows or mainstream comics yet. The production values here are far better than some of the competing kids books with Marvel or other characters (for example, the Super Hero Squad books, which aren't awful, just not nearly the same standard). The Origin Story books that we have purchased (The Mighty Thor: An Origin Story, The Incredible Hulk: An Origin Story, The Mighty Avengers: An Origin Story, The Invincible Iron Man: An Origin Story) have all been excellent. The artwork is of a substantially higher quality than you expect for a children's book, and the stories are simple enough for a young child to understand without completely dumbing down the premise of these heroes. From what I have read, they do tend to stray to the comic book versions of the stories rather than movie versions of the stories.I should point out specifically for this book that is does contain the same story in "The Amazing Spider-Man: An Origin Story," which we purchased before getting this book. This book adds substantially more Spider Man stories, covering most of the major villains you'd expect to see. The stories are simple enough for a pre-schooler to understand, and they are all a pretty good length for a bedtime story. The stories do also try to impart some lessons similar to those seen in the comics, and since this is Spider-Man, "With great power comes great responsibility" is front and center. The book itself is similar to the other Disney story collections. High quality binding and nicely constructed. It should hold up for years, provided you don't give the littlest ones an opportunity to rip pages.Overall, you can't go wrong with this collection for the young super hero or Spider-Man fan, though the minimum age is probably about 3. This book could have value into early elementary school, too, for those learning how to read on their own.

Wonderful Introduction for the Young Spider-Fan
My 3 (almost 4) year old son is OBSESSED with super heroes right now. While his current favorites seem to be Superman and Batman, I wanted to introduce my childhood favorite, Spider-man. I could not have picked a better book than this. It's a collection of 20 stories that cover Spidey's origins and a ton of villains, all in a kid friendly way. The stories are long enough and have enough plot to keep him engaged, but not so convoluted that a young reader can't follow. The origins of the villains have been simplified a bit, to cater to the early reader audience without bogging down in the expansive history that years of comics has created. Certainly the simplification won't appeal to die hard fans but this is a kid's story book and meant to just introduce the characters and world. The artwork is great, clean and clear and really adds to the story without cluttering the pages. An example is a nice series of images at the bottom of one of the pages depicting Doc Connor's transformation to the lizard. The six overlapping images show him drinking the formula, regrowing his arm, realizing it's starting to turn green, realizing he's transforming, and finally the full Lizard.I saved this book for a rainy day and pulled it out as a surprise. My son enjoys reading but never on this level. He is devouring this book, demanding to hear another story as soon as one we're reading is done. Over the course of two days we've nearly completed the book (with many repetitions of previous stories as well.) I can't say how happy I am with this purchase.

Outstanding Story book!!!
Book quality - 5Stories - 5Illustrations - 5Book value - 5We have two kiddos - 5/3 - Both LOVE this book. We've been reading it every afternoon and evening for two weeks straight.Writing is advanced enough for older kids, but not too complex for toddlers. Graphics are great and keep interest while reading. If you only want to get a single Spider-man book, this is the one. 20 different stories, 12 different villains, origin of Spider-man to what it takes to be a hero.

Great Storybook Collection For Spider-Man Fan!
We bought this as a gift for an almost 4-year-old who likes Spider-Man, it looks fantastic. It's just the right size (for little hands especially), writing is larger for children, etc. Reading is important at any age, but in particular for young readers, what a bonus to have a book about a little ones favorite comic book character. :)

My son and his cousin love it.
My son got this book from the library, and liked it enough that he gave a copy to his cousin for Christmas. My son is a first grader, and his cousin is in Kindergarten. It was the perfect reading level for the (slightly advanced) five year old to read by himself. Both boys loved the simple stories, which can be read separately or but are also loosely tied together as a complete narrative.

Great purchase. We're using this book for potty training purposes. The stories are long enough to get him to sit on the potty until he goes (or proves he doesn't have to) and short enough that he doesn't get bored or sore sitting on the potty while listening. He loves the stories and it's helped to keep him focused and still. It's going so well we're going to need a new book soon

Nice buy!
Well illustrated. Has stories of Spider-Man fighting against his different adversaries - some of whom even I was introduced through this book! Finally most importantly - my 5 yr old son loves the book.

Fantastic birthday present
Bought this as a last minute birthday present for my 3 year old son and it has been an complete success. My 2 boys are age 3 and 4 and they both absolutely love this book. They take it in turns each night to choose the story they want. The pictures are great and the stories a perfect length for bed time.... Whether that be 1 story, or more depending on what time it is!

Great book for little Spidey fans
22 spiderman stories so great value for money. All the great classic villains are here. My 4 year old loves this as he's now obsessed with some of the stranger villains is Spidey's rogues gallery such as Mysterio. All the stories are similar in length and we can usually get in two before bedtime.
