National Geographic United States Wall Map - Executive (Poster Size: 36 x 24 in) (National Geographic Reference Map)

I LOVE THIS MAP!!!!! I have made this map into a nice DIY frame and have place push pins to all the places I have traveled in the United States. This map is extremely detailed, has tons of national parks throughout the US. It is appealing to the eye and kind of has a nice vintage look to it. I am SO satisfied with this map and am thinking about buying one of the world for my outside of the US travels. I am also considering making some of these as gifts for family/friends for Christmas. This was a GREAT purchase and was so reasonable compared to other companies! MUST HAVE MAP!!

This is a fabulous map that can either be tacked up on the wall in the classroom or mounted in an expensive frame and still pull it off. The detail is pretty amazing as well, the cities are so on-point that even my tiny home town is listed. An easy diy project for the weekend I rubber cemented several cork board tiles to a piece of plywood, cemented the map to the top and polyurethaned it all. Add some stained and polyed decorative molding and wa la! You have an expensive looking piece of art ready to chart your journeys for less than $100.

One of my cheapskate (or thoughtful if you're my mother) Christmas gift ideas was to Mod Podge a map to some corkboard, then adhere all that to a sheet of wood and frame it for my parents so they could stick map pins in all the places they've been or plan on going. This map was perfect for my project. Everything is clearly labeled, including all the national parks and whatnot, but it's not so in-your-face about it like other maps. What a weird thing to say about maps, huh? Anyway, I had hoped for my gift to be displayed on a wall, and I knew my parents wouldn't want some generic looking map with too many bright colors. This one will look great on any wall in their house. I have nothing bad to say about it.

I wanted a map to frame and hang in my living room. I like being able to reference places on the news as well as having a reference for conversations that involve traveling. (For some reason I have those conversations a lot.) But I also wanted something that DIDN'T look like it belongs in a 5th-grade social studies classroom. This map is perfect for that. It's very pleasing to the eye and feels more like a "grown up" map than most of the ones I've seen that use different solid colors to separate the states. It's also very nice to have the bordering parts of Canada and Mexico visible. The level of detail is very nice. I've lived in a few very small towns and most of them are actually listed on this map! The font choice is excellent as well. I will agree with another reviewer who said that it's somewhat difficult to find or follow the names of mountain ranges. That's really my only knock against it. To be fair though, there's only so much room, and I personally care more about being able to read the roads, towns, lakes and state names than the mountain ranges.

I wanted a map for my husband that didn't look like a school room map. Came rolled in a clear tube and was perfect. No creases or tears. On heavyweight paper, that I plan to frame and mount to cork so I can mark all the places he has been. So excited to put it together to give to him for Christmas. Perfectly grownup. Great Topography. Has major roadways marked as well as many VERY small cities. Bodies of water are in white and entire map is very detailed. Also includes, Mexico and Canada. Alaska and Hawaii are in separate boxes, with great detail.

I wanted a map for my home office, so I could daydream of all the places I could go instead of doing all the work I need to do. I didn't want anything large, nor did I want something that reminded me of elementary school or state capital quizzes. This map seemed to be as classy as a map could get, while still being relatively affordable. I was not disappointed. The colors are sufficiently muted, major cities are easily readable, and it seems like a high quality paper it's printed on.

I purchased a similar world map from National Geographic and was extremely pleased with the quality. I thought - you know what'd be even better? If I had a U.S. map to match it. This map really is great quality for a cheap poster. The level of detail is perfect and the colors are nicely done, more subdued compared to some maps where each state is a vibrant color. The map has a beautiful antique look to it. It's hanging up on my dorm wall right now, but I plan on framing it for my apartment since it looks so nice.

I love this poster. I've turned it into a bit of an art piece my sticking each States quarter to it. Theres plebty of detail on the map, and i like looking out for random places that I've never heard of before. It's quite fun planning out future road trips, looking at the main highways and conmecting cities in my head. Would be great forna classroom too.

Got this map to help plan my road trip across the US. Although its not the biggest map out there it still has all the smaller towns, roads and areas marked on it, the different state borderlines are clear to see as well. Since coming back from my road trip I have put it in a frame and kept in on my wall as it looks really nice, a bit like a old fashioned map.
