The Old Scofield Study Bible, KJV, Pocket Edition Review: Favorite pocket/compact kjv study bible - Price is great, quality is great, don't is tiny, but it doesn't bother me, I like having bible I can hold in hands n read easy. Review: Still the Best for Accuracy - Old Scofield has in the past and still sets the standard for all other study Bibles. His notes in this edition (Original Scofield as opposed to New Scofield) are reset with newer type, and easy to read. Nothing has been changed, with the exception of added notes that do not interfere (since nothing has been deleted). In today's religious culture with every study Bible imaginable, Scofield still speaks to the serious theological student wanting to rightly divide the word of God. Be aware it is Dispensational [God working in time periods through history in different ways with different expectations] in approach, but not offensively. The quality of this Bible cannot be overstated: the paper, print, quality of materials, durability, binding and overall presentation [Oxford University Press]. Well worth twice the price. Scofield shines in his prophetic and historic commentaries. Evangelical churches in America anyway seem to be fading theologically in favor of programming and worship, so get this information while it is still easily available!

Love Scofield
Nice little Bible! You get what you pay for, I’ve seen some people on YouTube criticize this Bible but for $20 it’s a great value. You get all of the original Scofield notes in a compact pocket sized version! Love the basket weave look and also really appreciate the Marriage certificate in the front of the Bible (going to use that for my upcoming wedding). Some people criticize the quality of it because it’s not the same as a Local Church Bible Publishers leather Bible or a Church Bible Publishers Bible... guys it’s a $20 Bible. As far as I’m concerned, it’s the words on the inside that matter the most and not the cover on the outside.

The Size
This Bible was exactly what I expected and more. Not only is it in dept it has a section on proper names and subject a complete subject index. The concordance is also a pack feature of this compact pocket Bible. I am highly pleased with the scripture search also. I would highly recommend this pocket bible because it has all that a large size has and more.

I love my Bible!
Okay, this is a small bible. Yes, the font size is tiny as you would expect from a book that was made to be compact for its size. I wanted a small bible so I can carry it with me. So, just keep that in mind (and have realistic expectations) if you're wanting the same thing as I do. If you want a bigger font for better readability, then you will have to sacrifice the pocket size on your checklist, and choose the standard edition of this bible (next size up), or the classic edition (biggest). I wear glasses but the font doesn't bother me at all. I like that I can hold this small book in my hands every morning at prayer time, or put it in my purse and take it with me. With a bigger book, it may end up just staying in the shelf.

Truth + Style combined
First time stumbled upon this Old Scofield Study Bible Pocket Edition (though not actually will fit in someone's pocket!) in a bookstore, and I like the presentation of the Bible, but then somebody who was new in knowing Christ came and was searching a good Bible, so I gave him the only copy left in the shelf. Thankfully found this on Amazon, in great color (Black+Burgundy) that matches my style. Bought this because of the size (smaller size, no maps unfortunately), and because I've seen it before. Beside the outer style, my first impression was, I think it's neatly constructed (this is Bonded Leather, not Leather Bound, Amazon!). Inside, there's extra blank thick pages both in front and back, I guess that would be great for notes, names, signatures, whatever. The little print (around 7pt/Minion I guess) is not a problem for me, because I always have my glasses on. The line spacing actually varies from page to page, but still easy to read and doesn't look to crowed. The type is also very clear. The red letter is a rather bright burgundy color. It comes with presentation page for Matrimony, Birth, Marriages, and Deaths. 8 pages Index containing some important words with meanings, 44 pages of Proper Names with meanings (good for finding names for your babies, huh?), 38 pages of Subject Index, and 160 pages of Concordance. The books of the Bible are divided to certain groups, and each group has an extra page as description. Introduction to every book, very helpful subhead titles, center-column reference, in-depth explanations for footnotes. Each page also has an estimation of occurrence year. It was printed by Oxford, so of course it uses Oxford Edition of KJV text. Some text might have been updated like habergeon -> breastplate (Ex. 28:32), Cambridge edition still retains the older text. But it's still a KJV, better yet, a Scofield Study Bible. To sum it up, this is a really good Bible edition with a really good resource for study, especially if you're new to studying Bible like the person I mentioned above. I would definitely buy this again, maybe in a different cover, or a bigger print (not everybody is comfortable with this little print, I've seen complaints about the print not being large, even in 10pt typeface Bibles), with Duradera cover.

Awesome Study Bible
Excellent study Bible. Have always enjoyed Scofield Study Bible, for last 49 years. Only problem was print was a little small at my age.

Yes!!!
I LOVE this Bible. It’s compact and I have a small Bible case that’s perfect for it. It slips into my work bag perfectly. Thank you Amazon!!! The cover is thin so get a cover for it. That’s it. Love it!!!
