SAKURA 50200 Pigma Sensei Manga 6-Piece Drawing Kit, Black

I find this to be one of the best drawing kits for starting off artists. I got this a few years back when I started to draw, I really wanted to get some inking pens. Plus it came with a pencil and an eraser which I loved. The pencil is wonderful!! It's one of the best pencils I have ever used, sadly since I lost it I no longer have one, although I have bought the kit more than once to stock up on markers and the eraser is really nice! It's not kneaded and it gives off only a small amount of the flakes which is always a bonus. The only way to get that pencil is to buy this kit or another like it, but I was able to find a pencil like it, it was from Pentel I think... same company makes some great, smooth lead refiller, since regular, cheap lead isn't as good even with such a nice pencil. The markers are also quite nice!! Very smooth, it's a great kit for beginners to start off with. It has the basics needed to start, I don't really use them anymore since I mostly do digital art or I need a kit of pens with a larger variety of sizes, (even small than than the sizing of these pens). I highly recommend this kit, most of all to starting artists! I bought this as a Christmas gift to a friend who's a newer artist since I know how helpful it can be, I may buy another just to use these markers again, back when I used them I pressed too hard and wore out the ink, just trace along gently and you'll be fine.

I don't often use markers nor draw anime or comic related material, but I've been using these Sakura markers for other things and they're still some of my favorite tools. These six piece set is truly excellent and versatile; if you need a variety of black markers in a piece, this one gives you four different options in tip sizes! Here's the deal: 1. The pencil that is provided in the set is excellent and the lead is neither too hard nor soft. For the pencil alone, I love this set. The eraser is of good quality and has the right texture to avoid shredding delicate paper if you get a bit too energetic with it. 2. The different sized tips are for specific jobs in creating comics (lettering, tracing, detailing, etc.) and I've found uses for all of the in my work when I want to add splashes or bits of true-black to my pen drawings. The extra detail and good quality ink makes a world of difference. 3. The pens aren't to thick when holding them, they're light weight, and they are very fluid, so you don't have to press hard to get what you want. Comfort is an underrated quality with art supplies, and these markers have it. These markers aren't overly expensive and very few, if any, drawbacks compared to more expensive markers. I'll be buying more and you should too.

These were purchased as a gift for my daughter who is very into drawing manga, and enrolled in a drawing class at the time. Because I am not much of an artist, I wanted to play with them a little compared to a few other sets she has to see the difference and write an accurate review. We then collaborated and came up with this review together, agreeing upon most of the principles. The set is definitely not just for manga, and has been used in our household by all, to draw cartoons, artwork, lettering, scrapbooking, doodling and more. They dry quickly, which we all love because it means NO smearing, which is essentially when you are drawing. In addition, the various size tips, allow you to choose better for detailing. There is an included pencil and eraser which is awesome for pre-sketching. Because of the quick drying nature of the pens, this means you can erase the lines as you go with not a single smear mark or trace of the pencil remaining. We bought these in December and it's now August and they are still going strong. She uses them several times a week, in addition to us using them too. They were a GREAT value for the quality and amazon's price was FAR better than any store we found them at.

the pencil that comes from this set is my favorite pencil ever. the inks are great too, much preferable over Micron for bigger pieces.

This is my 2nd purchase. My first set of markers lasted for years until I lost them in a move. I repurchased since I was so happy with my first order and I'm already running out of ink. I will not purchase again 😔

The quality is magnificent. I've been using these for years, but the mechanical pencil is my personal favorite from the set. I was never a fan of using mechanical pencils for drawing before I got a hold of one of these bad boys. These particular pencils are also sold separately. Don't get me wrong, the markers are great as well. This set is great for beginners and veterans alike. You will not be disappointed!

I've looked around at various inking kits to do comic style arts and I'm consistently surprised by Japanese brands far more than western competitors. Great stuff!

I use high end ink brush pens and inks, and these markers leave as solid black a line as I've ever seen on illustration board or high weight paper. Totally worth the price, varied line widths from super thin 0.05 to a fat thick bold line. Also the mechanical pencil included is top notch. Totally recommended... you can ink a comic book with these. Bought 3 times!
