It's COARSE, y'all, truly COARSE!
You know those bags of "coarse" perlite that are really pellets crushed to dust??? Not these! These are nice chunks with just a bit of dust at the bottom. Yay!

Size does matter! One of my favorite products!!
Good soil and drainage are essential for a healthy plant. This is why I always make sure to add extra perlite to my soil mix to assists with extra drainage and aeration. I’ve bought this brand several times and I keep getting it because I love the larger size. I have bought other brands and I notice that it’s smaller, like the one you normally see in bags of commercial soil. I like to add plenty and then top off as needed in the future.. Perlite is a must-have for any plant potting project, and this one is great quality. Definitely one of my favorite products. All my plants do so well with it, and I can no longer go back to the smaller pieces. If this review helped you in any way, please click on ‘helpful’ so I know. I don’t know what everyone is crying about
I have bought numerous perlite products and this one is the best by far. The perlite is coarse and chunky how it is supposed to be. I have bought other companies perlite that was so small it was like the size of dipn dots. The people complaining im assuming want boulder size perlite and that is not practical. The product is coarse and bigger then any other i have encountered.

Works great but a little dusty when opening.
Really light weight, absorbant and just overall good. My only problem, which was very minor to me, was the fact that it is pretty dusty when you open it due to all the little friction knocking off small particles around. Where a mask when applying or keep your distance because its not something you want to be breathing in... Imagine working at a woodshop and seeing all the saw dust flying around, this is the same when you start to pour it out.

Worth It + Sans Synthetic Fertilizer
If you’re wondering if there’s a reason to spend more on this as opposed to standard Miracle Grow Perlite, I would say yes. It’s doesn’t create a giant cloud of toxic particles while mixing (although there still is some, so wearing a mask is advised). The consistency is more substantial. More will remain as solid substrate in the soil mix; whereas you’ll lose a portion of the Miracle Grow via powder production. I saw that some reviewers didn’t feel this was “course.” I respectfully disagree; although I’m sure there are courser options available out there. The other aspect I appreciate is that this doesn’t have any fertilizer added to it. Some plants don’t tolerate synthetic fertilizer well, such as Calathea. I stick to worm castings, both as a top soil or as a soil component for repotting. I used the last of this to repot my Calathea Dottie. I’ve used it on several other types of Calathea, including some that are rumored to be “highly picky,” and they all seem to love it. Note: Would prefer recyclable or biodegradable packaging and willing it pay a little extra for it.

pretty good!
good size bag. about 1/2 of it is in big enough pieces that i can add to my orchid mix. the other half was smaller and i had to add it to potting soil instead of using it for orchids. a lot of work sifting it acquire the big pieces and naturally dusty. i still would buy it again.
