worth it
this works very good get one, you should also get a 3foot air line with fittings to remain on unit i needed pliers to take my line off its close to unit. It uses air quick so the bigger your air tank the less it runs. I was crushing a lot of cans and it didn't skip a beat.

Crushes soda cans quickly and well.
Easy to assemble if one is familiar with pneumatic fittings. Where to place wrenches properly to prevent damaging a fittings is required. I encountered no issues what so ever. The instructions are good from my point of view. This can crusher has good quality components for the task in which it is designed for.I was able to crush a large trash container filled completely with un-crushed soda cans. The result was this volume of can being able to put into one trash bag. Excellent for saving space! Now as far as providing compressed air to operate the can crusher.I found this crusher operates very well at a minimum of 80 PSI. Now it does require a compressor with a significant CFM with at least 80+ PSI. Using a small compressor intended just to inflate tires is not recommended.I first used a small 2 gallon Craftsman air compressor. The volume CFM was just not enough to maintain the PSI level needed to operate this can crusher. You crush two or three cans and you have to pause and let the PSI build back up.I then connected the can crusher to a Port Cable 6 gallon compressor. After six to ten cans be rapidly crushed, basically one can per 3 seconds. The compressor PSI & CFM dropped too low to operate the can crusher beyond crushing a dozen or more cans. Having to pause for several minutes to allow the compressor motor and pump recover. Thus the compressor motor having to run constantly. Even then the can crushing process would have to be paused until the PSI could build back up. The can compressor will not crush cans if the PSI drops below 60 PSI. That is not an issue with the can crusher, just an issue with a compressor that does not have CFM capacity at 80+ PSI. So consider if your compressor is up to the task!I advise seriously do note the "Duty Cycle" of the compressor unit supplying air pressure to this can crusher to avoid damaging the compressor.I had to pause the crushing process often with my compressor as the PSI just would drop to low to operate the can crusher. This is not a fault of the can crusher considering what the process requires.I would recommend a large volume compressor of 20 gallon or more or if less volume with a compressor motor & pump rated with a 100% Duty Cycle (continuous run) cycle. So refer to your compressor manual as to the "Duty Cycle" of your compressor motor. My Porter Cable compressor stated the duty cycle was 50% maximum to prevent overheating the compressor. That mean't not running the compressor more than 30 minutes within a one hour period to prevent from overheating the compressor pump and motor. As for this can crusher, it is super when the PSI and appropriate CFM is available !It works quickly with little to no real effort on your behalf.I am a retired industrial electrician/instrumentation tech. Operating and hearing the rapid crushing cans brought memories of production line operators making meaningful progress forward.

Works great
You can mount the air hose connection on either side. I have had this unit for a year now and have crushed thousands of cans with no issues. It's a bit tight getting the air hose connected but i solved that problem by installing a short 6 ft air hose with a swivel connection that I leave on permanently. Highly recommended.

Assembly Required, But Simple
I put it together in about half an hour while watching TV and running out to the shop for wrenches. Note that most fasteners are SAE not metric. Not a complaint, just a heads up.Components seem to be of high quality with the exception of the welds on the frame. They might well be sufficient for the load, but not impressive. Also, I plan to add a street ell to the air input to make it easier to connect the air hose.Hooked up to my 90 PSI shop air, the cycle time was about a second. That is the reason I went for a pneumatic unit rather than electric. I don't know for sure, but the electric ones I looked at looked like they would me much slower. After assembly, I screwed the device to a piece of scrap plywood, sat that across a pair of saw horses, and tested it out.I turned a 22 gallon bag of cans into crushed cans that didn't fill a 5 gallon bucket quite halfway.Only three of the cans hung up in the crusher and failed to immediately drop into the bucket.I was thinking of building my own powered can crusher but when I saw this item I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did.

Excellent design, compact, portable, powerful, beefy construction, and great price!
Awesome! Fast, compact, powerful pneumatic, portable, and heavy, beefy construction. Incredible price compared to others. If fittings are installed carefully (some may need the additional white pipe thread tape that is included) then all hoses are perfect seals with no air air leaks at all. Hanging off a workbench it blows each crushed can perfectly into a positioned trash can or hefty bag. Fast. I’ve only cycled about 100 cans so I can’t vouch for long term reliability of the main pneumatic pump but it sure seems like it’s good for long term use. Highly recommend.
