liGo DECT Repeater by RTX Range Extender

Works a treat - easy to setup Thank you !!

I bought this to extend the range of an existing cordless phone set in my very old house with very thick old walls. It was very easy to get working, however at my age I need instructions supplied in a normal size and this was barely a pamphlet and hard to read. Also make sure to check your DECT phones are GAP compatible - not all are and if yours are not GAP compatible this device won't work for you. All in all quite happy.

Having read some mixed reviews regarding setup, I telephone Ligo and had a quick conversation with them ahead of making my decision to purchase. They were very polite, very clear in their communication and filled me with confidence. They were also able to confirm that the device would work with my existing DECT phone. I would recommend telephoning them to check compatibility - there are a few phone manufacturers who do not always manufacture their phones with DECT GAP compatibility (here's looking at you BT!!) Anyhoo, the parcel arrived within 2 days, considerably ahead of schedule (yay!). The packaging was excellent, with minimal waste and yet I was confident the product had been protected. Opening up, a very pleasant surprise was how small the device was. Build quiality appears very good, and the length of mains cable is very good, enabling you to locate the unit pretty much where you want. It comes with UK and Euro plug adapters, which are easy to insert, and there is also a rawlplug and screw supplied should you wish to wall mount. Activation of the unit was easy. From the device point of view, you just switch it on and it is setup to connect straight out the box with your phone system. There are also instructions on what to do should you want to register it to another base station. The only tricky bit is finding out what to do on your telephone base unit in order to activate it to allow the ligo device to connect to it. Understandably, that's outside the control of the Ligo unit, and the level of complexity is going to be manufacturer specific. For me, I just had to select a setting in the menu for "repeater", and then hold down the intercom button for 10 seconds. Your phone may vary, so that's where your skills at searching the internet will come in, butI would imagine Ligo would be more than happy to hand hold should your telephone manual be hard to understanding. Anyway, after 3 attempts to understand the hieroglyphics in my telephone manual, I was able to get it into the right setting, I switch on the Ligo and it connected instantly! Top tip: whilst do the setup , have the Ligo pulgged in next to your base unit, that way you don't have to keep getting up and walking back and forth switching stuff on and off. I positioned the unit where I wanted it and then went off to test the signal. I have a garden about 110ft in length and the telephone basestation is positioned at the fonrt of the house, as I imagine is the case with most people. So, plenty of brick walls, microwaves, television and so forth in-between. before I had the Ligo booster installed, I could get about 70ft down the garden before I lost signal. With the booster installed, I got to the bottom of the garden and was still and maximum signal strength!! Brilliant. I have tested the quality of the line as well, and it is excellent. there is absolutley no noticeable drop in quality, no crackle, no noise , even when I an inside a aluminium foil lined room at the bottom if the garden. I am extremely impressed and would recommend this.

I'm sure this unit works well enough when it is set up. However I had problems setting it up and found the online assistance useless. It is obviously computer controlled and it kept going round and round in circles. I finally requested a telephone number which it gave me. I rang the number and the usual system asked which service I needed. I selected Customer Service. It told me I was no. 1 in the queue and I just waited and after 5 mins it switched off. I am amazed that a telephone company can be so poor at communication. PS. I am a very computer savvy person so I don't normally have problems of this nature.

Having bought a similar item that did not work. I was dubious of this purchase. However, I need not have worried. They came, they worked, and I am very pleased with the results. I would recommend these to extend your range. We have a three story building, and my lowest signal is 2 bars. 35 meters away on the ground floor., excellent for what I needed. Two purchased and more than happy with results. Top tip: If the repeater is not giving you what you need signal wise, move the repeater it does solve most low signal bars and reception. There is a long lead on the repeater to facilitate this. My landline phone is a Gigaset AS690H.

Arrived a day earlier than forecast. Seems reasonably priced compared to others. I've linked it up to a Panasonic quad set and it certainly boosts the signal to the furthest handset, which was previously proving flakey.

I bought this to provide the necessary connection from a Panasonic KX-TG7230E wireless base station to a remote handset in a garden office. Put the Panasonic base unit into Repeat mode, powered up the LiGO DECT repeater, hit the Page button on the Panasonic base station, the LiGO Repeater light went straight to green, job done! Now we can call to the garden office and vice versa very easily. Terrific product.
