Easy to use
I have some brown staining in the bathtub and toilet in one of my rental properties. I purchased these strips which detected high levels of iron, just as I had suspected. Test is so easy to perform and read that I have my tenants test the water monthly.

Does not work as advertised!
Pretty much a total loss for product performance. While gently moving the test strip back and forth in the freshly drawn well water, I see clouds of blue swirling in the water. After swirling for the specified 30 seconds, no more clouds of blue. I wait the two minutes and nothing shows on the test strip. All the test chemical appears to have washed into the test tube. Test tube is only 1/2" diameter and 2" deep. I know I have iron in the water due to the weekly need to clean the bath room fixtures with iron out. Maybe this is a bad batch, lot number says use by 11/21.I tried a 2-3 second swirling in water (recommended by other test strip suppliers) but with pretty much the same result.I cannot recommend this product!!!

Not really what I was hoping for
Maybe it's my old eyes, but I can't tell much of a color difference between the color chart or the color of the "aperture" on the test strip. To me the color of the aperture appears to be a 0.2 ppm, while during the 30-seconds the strip was in the the water in the vial looks as purple as a concord grape and compared to the chart appears to be in the 2.0 to 5.0 range.table . I prefer titration tests where the color change is more apparent.

Funny results. Waiting for customer service.
Even with chelated iron added into the test solution, I couldn't get the color of the aperture to go past 0.2ppm. I went to their website and wrote a note to their tech support. Haven't heard back from them. Not sure anyone's home.

Good test strip for Iron testing
Prior to fixing a problem with a bad well stream we had Iron of 3.5 ppm.. This was from a lab test, so I wanted a test to use to monitor the Iron content in the well. After we turned off the bad stream (lots of red very fine silt) the Iron content has dropped to .5 ppm This is a resonable test to use, but the test strip can be a little difficult to read. It would be nicer if it were just a pad on the test strip that you matched with the color on the instructions, but once you get used to it the test strip works well.

good affordable test
Easy to use and read. Affordable and arrived quickly. I had no issue with matching the strip to the color chart.

Dubious accuracy. Poor Instructions.
the instructions say to gently agitate test strip in vial of test water for 30 seconds and then "look through aperture to compare to color chart". then it says to confirm "low iron by observing blue color in vial".Now, when you dip the strip into water that is known to contain iron, the water turns purple. the hole on the test strip (aka the "aperture". why not just call it the hole on the test strip?) -- the hole/aperture is just translucent/clear. no color at all. this is with water that is known to contain high iron. Then - when used with water that has gone through both iron filtration and water softening, the water in the vial stays clear, as does the hole/aperture.so to summarize:high iron water: test strip is clear, test water turns purple. Instructions say test strip should turn blue like the color chart.low iron water: test strip clear, test water clear. instructions say test water should turn light blue.clearly there are problems with this product and its instructions.Basically, i'm now just looking at the color of the test water in the vial. if it turns purple I know my iron filter isn't working anymore and needs to be regenerated more often than every 3 days. if the test water stays clear I know the filter is working as intended.I have no confidence in the relative scale of iron content published on the packaging.I will not be purchasing these test strips again.
