A Brand I never heard of with affordability in mind
The Silicon Power 128GB Blaze B30 USB 3.0 Swivel Flash Drive that I purchased back in 2014 was something of a Brand I have never heard of. At that time, there were other brands such as Kingston, Sandisk, Samsung, Lexar, and etc. that already have paved their way to the USB 3.0 Flash Drive game however, 128 GB variants were newly introduced and getting one in a portable flash drive alone was quite expensive at that time. As I went thru pages and pages on what Amazon offers, I stumbled upon this brand with few reviews, and mostly were positive. The listed price was fairly inexpensive, so I took the plunge and purchased it. Upon receiving the flash drive, it was made of plastic with the outer swivel being the metal one. The swivel has a satisfying click when fully out of the way to access the USB drive, and same like-wise when returned to closed position. It was built fairly well for something of a Brand I have not heard of. When I plugged it in, there was something I liked about this Brand that other big brands like Kingston should follow and that is not containing Bloatware in the drive when new. Kingston flash drive has this horrible bloatware that you cannot access your full drive unless you set up a password like your own vault in order to access the drive. You try formatting it, it wont erase the vault-like app and you won't be able to see your data unless you log in. Silicon Power on the other hand, did not have any of those and out of the box, it drive was empty. I was very surprised how easy yet simple like this can make the ease of use very satisfying to use. Their drive speed may not match like those of big branded ones, but one thing for sure is that it is faster than USB 2.0 and that is all that counts for me. It was going at normal USB 3.0 speeds, but just not in a higher spectrum. The portability and what you get for it was good that I purchased a few more of these just in case I needed to store more data or give to my friends and family who need it for emergencies. The Drive has not failed or corrupted on me after all these years and this shows that Silicon Power has done something right. I've seen this brand grow better and better each year to the point they made and marketed more items for storage such as portable hard drives, SSDs, M.2s at blazing speeds and some made for gaming with huge success based on the many reviews received from customers who purchased their products while keeping affordability in mind. Yes, some of their offerings may be expensive, however if you look at the competitive side they are going against with, they are way more expensive that what Silicon Power offers and that is what I like about it. There are several other items I bought from Silicon Power over the years and those have survived on me.

Great Flash Drive
Great Flash Drive - I like the 128GB, it is enough space for just about all of your needs. Nice design, great looking. Swivel cover is a little delicate (but I am hard on things). Very very fast over USB 3.0. Just a great product at a great price. All I was hoping for. PROS: Everything - design, price, speed, functionality. CONS: only showed 117GB available of 128, and I wish this was available in a 256GB version. I would have purchased that.

Perfect for my mac
I love this item, its small convenient and well priced. The design is superb, I use this as an external media disc, its small enough to be truly portable, the price is well within reason, and the speeds are excellent. It makes for an easy to use SSD or more correctly flash drive. The 128 Gb version is a perfect companion for my MacbookAir -edit- I ran some speed tests, said about 72 Mbs write, and 200+Mbs read, I transferred a 4.6GB file in 20 seconds, so the actual write times are even quicker for some files. Very good for a flash drive, and much faster than any other stick I've purchased.

4 years of life and then it went to USB heaven.
I purchased this device many years ago back in 2014 and it has finally given out. This was my main device I used for many many things and it got on average 2 uses a day. I will say I am satisfied with this device and would buy it again if I need something that size again. (128gb was mine) I believe that I might have been the cause of it's death since like I'm sure most of us have done here/there I did not safely eject my USB device!! I am now going forward, only takes a small scare like this to push you into the right direction. Pros: Feels solid (Got a nice metal protective swivel) Portable Keeps end of USB stick covered (This was part of the reason i went with this one) Cool design. (Doesn't have huge brand logos or crap on it) Has tassel/thread spot. (I like to keep it on a line so I don't lose it easily) Speed. (Others have done speed tests and it does depend greatly on your hardware) Size (it holds the amount it says.. not much to say here) Cons: Really just 1 con. It died when I removed it without using the safely eject your USB device. While I know it's completely possible to have some kind of device to stop the transient voltage from a voltage surge from going into the device by grounding it to something else. But I don't really know off the top of my head of any USB flash drives that do anything like that. Summary: Good product with no issues from someone who has had 2 for over 4 years, but since it died from not safely ejecting I gave fewer stars. (bought 2 so i did have my stuff backed up)

The best flash drive I've ever owned
I bought this to replace a comparable USB 3.0 device from PNY (see: http://amzn.com/B00FE2N1WS). The unit feels well-built and the metal slider/cover has a nice incremental swivel where it locks in place at each 90-degree turn (I don't know how else to describe it, but it's better than others where the metal covers are free-swivel). It stores all I want it to, and more. Plenty of space for high-res photos from my DSLR, my "essentials" music library, and important documents from work (you know, the kind that you want to have like 5 backup copies of just in case). I was even able to set aside ~30GB of space reserved for ReadyBoost (not that I'd ever need that much). I have one small observation (I'm not even going to call it an issue or a problem): The MacBook Pro I sometimes use at work recognizes it, but can't read it. Not sure what's going on there. Doesn't matter to me though, because who needs OSX anyway right? It's nice to have one small USB stick with everything you could ever want to share with someone in a pinch. I enjoy this flash drive so much, I gave it a name... Theodore. Is it weird that I named my USB flash drive? Oh well.

It works until it doesn't
Update to earlier review where I was concerned. This drive works great until it doesn't The drive suddenly became "write protected" which will not allow me to save files to it or to format it. From what I've read online a drive that does this is a cheap drive and of no use. The company's warranty is useless as they want it returned so far from the US that the cost is prohibitive. Amazon has been kind enough to allow me to return it to them minus a restocking fee (I don't get that) but now I am waiting to see what they tell me about formatting the drive before returning it. I have credit card information, health info and more that is personal and the drive must be wiped before I can return it. Yet no matter what program I try it says can't because the drive is write protected. Don't buy these drives and don't put any sensitive data on them because it's there forever.

Nicely designed, fast flash drive
This is a really nice, well-constructed flash drive. If you are looking for a fast drive with lots of storage, you should be pretty happy with this one. I formatted mine in exFAT so that I could transfer files > 4 GB, and it has worked flawlessly over the last few months. I also like the swivel cap. The "Four-Way Position Rotation Technology" just means that the cap has four "stops" that it naturally rests in, each 90 degrees from the adjacent stops. This tends to prevent the cap from rotating away from the plug when being jostled around in your pocket or bag, which is nice. Nothing groundbreaking here - just a fast, nice flash drive that works (in my experience) just like all other drives, at a good price point.

A great product at an excellent price.
This drive is compact and powerful. It is very fast and is working extremely well as my backup drive. It has enabled me to back up my entire macbook pro prior to downloading an upgrade to Yosemite. As a result it has allowed me to avoid all of the issues that may have occurred with people who had not backed up their computers prior to upgrading. It also has provided me the peace of mind knowing that if the download did not live up to my expectations I could go back to my original setup. The 128GB gave me all the storage I needed and then some. Shipping is free and faster than I expected.
