Tomtom XXL 540S 5-Inch Widescreen Portable GPS Navigator (Renewed)

I recently purchased this unit having owned the same style unit for 10 years+. When the new unit was started up, an opening screen announced that the maps loaded onboard were 120 months old and needed to be uploaded at TomTom. When I attempted to upload more recent maps at TomTom, there was a message saying the memory onboard was too small to upload the latest maps. The "Memory Storage Capacity 1 GB" was specified on the Amazon page for this product. The memory storage in the new unit specification declaration page states a memory of 64 MB. This is the same size as my antiquated 10 year old unit, except the maps in my old unit had been updated much more recently that 120 months (am I wrong, or is that 10 years??) I returned the unit and promptly received full credit on my credit card for the unit plus $1.00 shipping credit. The USPS charged me $12 to return the unit. Total Loss: $11 difference in return shipping and about 2 weeks messing around. Be warned!!

I like the Tom Tom Brand but even though it was refurbished I expected it to come with a user manual and most importantly to have a serial number. No more refurbished stuff from Amazon again

Some scuffs. Works well.

Item was for German market -- came with no American voices. Also, battery does not hold a charge. I have returned it via USPS. As I never used it on the road I have no idea what other problems the item may have.

It kept fallen down, It could find addresses, sometimes had me off road. I am returning it and went and bought a Garmin. Now I have no problems anymore.
