New TP-Link customer. Worked immediately with Xfinity. Great affordable modem.
TP-Link DOCSIS 3.0 343Mbps High Speed Cable Modem This was my first time trying a TP-Link product. I had moved to a new place and was just about to buy the usual combo modem/router by Netgear that I was familiar with, except I knew from previous experience that I never got good wireless speed with that. I started reading about how you probably don't want a combo unit if you can afford to avoid it. I looked online and TP-Link modem models were actually mentioned on some pretty respectable tech websites in articles advising which modem you should get in your price range. Other modems in this price range are so small that some of them were reported to have heat issues and other problems. I plugged this modem in, registered my new Xfinity service, and everything worked immediately. I didn't even need to enter any serial numbers or anything to get online. I didn't have to call in or have anybody come to the house. I'm getting good speeds on the lower tier internet service that I purchased for the time being. The design of the product is sleek and subtle. It is stable when stood up vertically. Appears to have good venting for heat. The LED lights are my favorite feature, bright white with two green for Up/Down, nicer to look at than the pale yellowish/green lights you're probably used to on other products. The lights are visible from far away and from different angles, without being so bright that they'd be annoying in a dark room. As long as this modem doesn't suddenly die in a short amount of time or anything like that, I am totally happy and please to have found a new brand to use. I paired it with a nice dual band TP-Link router and really enjoy my setup now for $20 more than an under-performing combo unit was going to cost me. I can't really think of any negatives. Very reasonable price and it does everything it should.

Awesome price! Works with Xfinity blast teir!!! Yay
The great price IMMEDIATELY drew me in to this product. I was NOT looking forward to spending hundreds of dollars to update my stone age equipment. I read through several pages of these reviews before I made my purchase. There were a few bad reviews, but The MASSIVE amounts of 5 star reviews had me feeling confident. My biggest concern when looking for a modem was that it wasn't on Comcast's "approved hardware" list. Our old cable modem was over ten years old and couldn't handle the high speed. At that point, it was worth a shot because out of my available 150mbps download speed (from my internet service provider), I was only getting about 11mbps. Your available download speed may vary depending on your ISP. This does NOT produce a wifi signal. You will have to purchase a separate wireless router to go with it. I bought both the TP modem and router. I am finally enjoying my blast! Teir internet speeds. No more slow or spotty connections. Easy set up for even the least tech savvy person. Just plug in your power, coax, and Ethernet then call up your ISP to have them sync the MAC and SN with their signal. Took all of 10 minutes to set up from the time the package was delivered on my porch to the time I hung up with Comcast. We comfortably run 2 smart TVs, a game council, two cell phones, and a tablet with no issues. Dont let those 1star reveiws scare you. For the price, it is definitely worth a try. So go ahead and hit that "add to cart". Hope this helped your decision.

Used to to replace the combo from my ISP, works better & will pay for itself in months.
Wonderful product, but it's too light. If you have it on a shelf or table with the coax routed down behind it, it causes it to tip back since its so light. I wish they had tested it a bit more and maybe weighted the bottom-front somehow. Doesn't affect performance, though, and if I really cared I could wall-mount it or use the screw holes on the bottom to add a piece of wood. I think that maybe putting the coax port at the bottom or including a second base with an angle to it so it still fits flat could've fixed this. I bought this in conjunction with this: D-Link DIR-860L IEEE 802.11ac Wireless Router in order to ditch the Comcast one, and I'm happy to say it'll pay for itself in a few months. Using this, I've seen my downstream speed increase from 75 to 88 mbs on speedtest.net. There was minimal setup, the only issue was activating it with Comcast which went better than normal. You just have to call in or visit a website, it's in the manual.

TP-Link gives you good products for a good value. I used this as my modem for Teksavvy internet. All I did was login and change the admin password (but if you want, you don't even have to do that).

Not what I was looking for.....not strong enough....not using it anymore..

So far it seems to work ok. It seems as this is a used modem (cables were a bit of a mess and modem/adapter has some dust & such). Time will tell.

On Saturday I notice start.ca was listing a new 250/20 service in select cogeco areas. They have since dropped that listing, because the offering does not go live until October 1st. On Sunday I ordered this modem, as it was on the supported modem for the new service. But by Monday it was dropped from the list, because Cogeco sent out a new list of supported modems. It took me awhile to realise why Cogeco dropped this modem from this speed tier, since it is more than capable. Then I notice Cogego's website now lists a 60/10, 120/10, 360/20, ... They dropped the speed tiers between 120 and 360. So anything that does not support 360/20, will be blocked by Cogeco for anything about 120/10. I was sadly disappointed, because despite the fact I ordered used, the modem looked absolutely brand new. I liked the simplicity of the design. It is well vented for cooling. I was really excited to see what this modem could do.

My downstream power levels increased by 2-3 dBmV compared to my old DCM476 modem, although upstream went down slightly by 0.5-1 dBmV. It's definitely a worthy trade off because my lines are decades old and every little boost helps. It's also been rock stable as far as internet connection. Looks like my previous modem is showing its age at 6 years as it was causing intermittent down times. The TC-7610 is about as warm the DCM476 to the touch, but since the natural position is standing up versus lying down, all the ventilation holes can freely disperse/intake air. With the DCM476 modem, I had to purchase tiny cushions to stick them underneath in order raise it above the surface it was on for more air; with the TP-Link there's no need.
