It Works!
This is my 2nd time purchasing an Epilady product (full body epilator). My first one was similar, red & white, same style rotating head. It was a little smaller, and was not rechargable, you could only use it with the cord attached, which I did not mind. But I’ve had it awhile (maybe 3 years?) and it was starting to sound funny, like it was close to petering out soon and I did not want to be without my Epilady!! I really depend on it. So I ordered this one during Amazon’s Prime Deal Days and got a little bit of a discount, which was nice. This model is really similar to my first model, but it’s slightly longer in length and can be used with the cord, or without, once it’s fully charged. That will probably come in handy. I had read other reviews that said this model worked even better than the one I had because it had adjustable speeds and removed even the tiniest bit of hair regrowth. Meaning you do not have to wait until you LOOK like you need to shave before you can epilate your stubble. I was curious to see if that was true, so I used my old Epilady yesterday and sure enough, I could still feel a little stubble afterward. I got my new Epilady gen 2 today and went back over everything again with the new device and it was true! It pulled out even the tiniest little bits of stubble left behind by my 1st gen. device that I had just used the day before. Now I feel completely silky smooth - legs, arms, underarms, you name it, it worked great! And it will stay that way for about a month. No pinching of the skin, either. This is an amazing product and works like it claims. I’m extremely pleased with it and told my sister about it as well. If you are not sure, just take the plunge and go ahead and get it. It really works!

WORKS! Just takes practice
This baby takes some getting used to, and definitely requires trial and error as well as patience! The first time I used this, it left a red rash all over my legs that took a day or two to go away. I realized after that I had tried to epilate lag hair that was not quite long enough, which ended up in me just rubbing and rubbing my skin with the epilator which caused irritation. The second time was much more of a success, and I only did one leg on one day, and the other leg the next day. I let my hair grow out a lot more the second time, and the epilator took the hairs right out! There was and still will be a little redness/red bumps each time I epilate, but since I learned how to use the epilator correctly, the redness goes away in the same day. A few TIPS to newbies: When you first open your epilator, read the instructions FIRST before anything. This is my first epilator and I'm so glad I took the time to read the instructions and other reviews on here. This epilator requires at least 12 hours of non-stop charging before the first use. 12 HOURS. Yes, you read that right. Just like a new phone, it needs to be charged fully before using and to increase the battery life. (Also, the light on the front stays red when plugged in, even when fully charged for 12 hours. It doesn't ever turn a different color than red unless it's turned off/unplugged.) So set a timer or keep track on your own and don't rely on the light to alert you. After your first or second use, or whenever you start to feel the epilator lose power or sound like it's becoming more quiet/dying, just plug it back in. Other charge times won't take 12 hours and you can use the epilator while plugged in as well. HOW TO USE: Another tip is to hold the epilator so the letters are upside down (obviously lol), with the more open end of the V shaped blades facing the opposite way your hairs grow. (So for legs, basically starting at ankles and working upwards in circular motions.) Circular motions seem to work best and may have to be slower or faster circles on different areas of the body. Sometimes you'll have to go over a spot more than once to get stubborn hairs. This is a very lengthy process, and can take up to an hour or more for both legs depending on your comfort levels. You may have redness for a couple hours afterwards as well, so DO NOT epilate your body right before...or even the same day as a hot date! :P Give yourself time and space. PAIN: I try to always use the epilator after a hot shower on dry skin, so my hairs and skin are more flexible, which decreases pain. Speaking of pain...this is not for sissies! It helps to try to hold skin tightly or pull skin in opposite direction/stretch skin of epilator. I would rate this at about a 6 or 7/10 pain level for legs, and about a 9/10 for armpit...I have not been brave enough to try on my bikini area. The more you use an epilator, the more used to it you become and the less painful it feels. I'm also aware that a week or so before a woman's period, her skin is a lot more sensitive, which can be even more painful. So be considerate of yourself and your schedule! A good test for pain before buying an epilator is to take a tweezers and try plucking a leg or armpit hair, or any hair that that you plan on epilating. This is similar to the feeling of using an epilator, because it literally plucks your hairs out. (Which is why it works so well!) RESULTS: I have gotten pretty great results from my epilator and I only have to use it about once a month on my legs (and my hair grows FAST...let me tell you!) There have been little stray hairs that I just have to shave off later that day, but the epilator gets about 98% of hairs for me at least. My skin is so smooth! After the redness and red bumps fade that is. It's also great to apply a non-irritating body moisturizer to areas after epilating.

Epilady 4 Legend
Ok... I have little hair on my legs and... it's blonde. So there's that. But I LOVE this thing. It pulls everything I want it to. And then I'm good for several weeks. It's not a clean, close shave like a razor. It doesn't "cut" hair - it pulls it out. I recommend using after a nice hot bath or shower. Opens pores and it's less painful - but honestly, it doesn't hurt that much - and I'm a baby! This one is a replacement for an older model that finally gave out and wouldn't charge any more - after about 8 years or so of use. This one is a charger unit - so you plug it into charger, fully charge and you'll get around 30- 40 minutes of work. I find it's enough to do both legs (calves, ankles, knees - I don't usually do my thighs) I don't recommend for underarms as underarm skin is too delicate and might get caught up in the device. I suppose if you can hold your underarm skin really taunt you MIGHT be able to. I think it's better to use a razor there or other hair remover cream - just my opinion. I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful.

I think it's ok, but not perfect.
I am not very hairy to begin with, so that has been a big help :). I purchase this about 4 months ago and had let my hair grow out for 3 weeks before using this. That worked great for my legs. But when the Epilady misses hairs, it takes quite a few passes to grab the stragglers. That's sort of annoying and adds to the time it takes to remove the hair. Also, my legs never feel completely smooth...always a little stubble the thing can't grab. That makes sense since it can't reach into my follicle, but I'm just saying there's an advantage to using a razor. As for armpits, Guantanamo should invest in a couple of these. If you plan to rip out your armpit hairs, do not let them all grow out initially...take it in strides. It's really just torture that first time with the armpits; subsequently it's been fine. So if you can handle the initial pain, just know it'll be much less agonizing in the future. The hairs grow back softer and finer, so you'll not even notice you need armpit touch-ups...so look every now and again because you do! I am glad to have finally tried an Epilady. I had wanted one for 20 yrs. If there's a better unit out there that gets more hairs with each pass I would like to know. I don't want to wax as that's messy and I don't have time with little kids running around. But I do have time to quickly whip out my Epilady for a few minutes before bed some nights. And I did try the bikini line (just what would show if wearing one) and it worked great...not even painful to my surprise. Now, I would be too afraid to do the whole bikini area, so I'll leave that up to you brave souls who care to do that sort of thing. So... I like this because: - removes enough hairs - not messy...just hairs to clean up...no water even - hairs growing back softer I don't like: - misses some hairs - takes a long time to complete mission - initial armpit hair extraction is excruciating (and I'm not a wimp)

Throw away the razor - this thing is amazing...
I don't normally leave reviews but I am so impressed with this little device that I had to give it props. I did a LOT of research on waxing and epilating before making a purchase, and ended up with the Epilady due to it's positive reviews. I was very nervous about trying it - after all it does rip your hair out by the roots... but I figured I'd just try my best to take it like a champ because I really wanted the results that it promised. The first time I used it on my legs it was surprisingly less painful than I expected. It felt like sharp little pricks - not terrible by any means, and I was able to completely do both legs with no problem at all. My arm pits were more sensitive and I did stop and "rest" a few times while doing them. The first time is the hardest for sure... not only is your hair not used to being plucked out, but you HAVE a lot more hair than after you've been doing it a while. After my first complete epilation, I went back every few days and got any new growth. They say you can wait three weeks or so between sessions, but I really love a smooth feel so I do it routinely every other day or so. It really will pluck even short short hairs that have barely surfaced, so when you are finished you have soft smooth skin. The only thing I can find less than perfect with the Epilady is that it's difficult to epilate the fine baby hairs on my upper thighs. It does great with more course hair, but I have to go back over fine body hair quite a bit to get it all. I did purchase Dr. Numb cream to apply before using this on my bikini area, and I am glad for that. It was painful the first time, but not unbearable. The Dr. Numbs helped a lot! After that first time, I didn't need it anymore. I barely feel the prick when I use it now, even in the most sensitive areas.

I think this product works better in some areas over others and that's why I ...
I am a real user of this product and this is a legitimate review. Some of these reviews seem to be professional writers that are maybe hired to leave reviews. I've been using this Epilady for over 3 weeks now. It's my first time using an Epilady. I have used this on my face, my arms, my arm pits, my legs and my bikini area. I think this product works better in some areas over others and that's why I rated it 3 stars. I'll start with the face. I usually bleach the hair on my face but started to worry that that was leaving a mustache stain so I thought I'd try an Epilady. I think it works the worst on the face because the hairs on the face or the finest and hardest for those little tweezers to grab. But it does work, it just takes a little time to remove the hair and you will likely still have to do some light plucking with tweezers for those hairs that this just won't remove. You have to be careful on the face though because you will want to press down to get those hard to get hairs but you can not press down with this but only run it very lightly over your face. If you press down it will remove a light layer of your skin and you will be left with red patches that will take a few days to heal and go away. I had some red patches where this removed a thin layer of my skin that was embarrassing for a few days. The pain level is not that bad on the face again because the facial hairs are so fine. Over all I am more satisfied with the Epilady over bleaching my face so I will continue to use the Epilady on my face. The armpits are by far the most difficult to do with this product. It's an awkward place and you can't pull the skin tight which you need to do and it's difficult to move the Epilady in small circles. One of the cons for this Epilady is you can't use it like a regular razor. You don't just swipe up and the hair is removed. You have to do little circles and many little circles in the same area before it removes the hair. For the arm pit and the face I usually have to do it every day for a few days before I can remove all the hair. It did leave a little bit of a bumpy rash under my arms and it's not smooth and silk under the arms like it is on the face. The pain level is not too bad under the arms. A little worst than the face but not the most painful spot on the body. The arms were easier then the face and arm pits because it's just a smooth straight surface so it does better on the arms. It is a little more painful then the face because the hair is thicker. It does very well on the arms and is easier to use on the arms except in areas you can't see like the back of the upper arms. You have to be able to see what you are doing to see if you've removed all the hair. For the legs this product probably works the best on because the hair is thickest on the legs. It works best and is easiest on the legs but it's also the most painful on the legs - because the hair is thick on the legs. It is the MOST painful around the knees. It was so painful around the knees it gives me a pit of a stomach ache when I do that area. It does remove the hair very well on the legs if you can just power through the pain. The bikini area - yikes - I didn't have the nerve to use this the first go around on the bikini area plus I was worn out after doing the face, arm pits, arms and legs. The pain is not nearly has bad as I expected for the bikini area and it does work well on the bikini area but proceed with caution. It's easy to grab hairs you don't want to remove so you have to be very careful. You must pull the skin tight here because this Epilady can pinch that area and cut and remove chunks of skin. The second time I did my bikini area it pinched me and removed a small chunk of skin. That was it for me and I couldn't go on anymore after that - in that area. It really freaked me out. The first time you use this your skin is silky smooth but after the first time you won't really have silky smooth skin anymore because the hair begins to grow back at different rates in different areas so while you may be able to remove all the hair that is long enough to remove there will be some just below the surface that will poke out the next day and those you wouldn't get. The biggest con is you need to do this at least once a week if not more depending on how picky you are about removing every last hair. Going 4 to 6 weeks between using this doesn't seem at all realistic to me. I have to do this once a week every where. However all the hairs don't come back at the same time like it would with a razor but enough hair grows back in by the end of the week that it's noticeable and needs to be removed. It took me about 3 hours the first time I did this to remove all the hair and that was the most painful because there was so much hair to remove. The second time it was less painful because there was less hair to remove because all the hair doesn't come back in at once. It took me about 2 hours to remove all the hair the second time around. The third time I was getting used to the pain but it's still painful. It took me 1 hour and 45 minutes to remove all the hair the 3rd time around. I don't know if I will continue to use this for all areas on my body. It's time consuming and it gets hard to bring myself to deal with the time and the pain involved. I think I will definitely continue to use this on my face rather than bleaching my face. I will probably also continue to use this on my arms because that hair grows back in so fast with a razor. I don't know if I will continue using this on my arm pits, legs and bikini area though. Since this hair comes back in within a week I don't know that the pain and the time involved is worth it to continue using it in those areas. It's faster to just shave and a lot less painful. I will use this all over for longer because my hope is if I continue to use this that the hair will stop growing in but I suspect if I were to stop using this all together all the hair would eventually come back in. :-( If you're thinking about this I think it's worth a try - given the fact that the price is reasonable - and see how it works for you. It's one of those products that some people may end up loving while others will hate. You just won't know until you give it a try. I'm glad I gave it a try.

Works exactly as promised, doesn't hurt.
It took me more than 15 years, but I had finally worn out my prior epilady (rechargeable battery just wouldn't hold very long). I love the Epi and it is great to have a new one that buzzes away even the smallest stub of hair. I use the Epi on my face and legs. It performs exactly as promised and without pain. Came with a nice zippered pouch that holds Epi, cord, and a little cleaning brush so I can store it easily in small bathroom drawer. My prior one didn't have the pouch and the cord could get messy in the drawer. So nice to buy something that does not disappoint.

First Time user...
After using this one time, I think it is important to note that I am using this on my legs. I believe it will be a different experience for you if you use it on your face or underarms. That said, I started with 1 leg prior to a hot shower and 1 leg after a hot shower to see if there was any difference in pain or use. I did not see any difference. Overall, it is a slow process, and I can see a ton of areas that I apparently completely missed. I would think I will probably use it once a week and it will eventually get it all. The hair I used it on was "longer" (simlar to when you wax?) as I stopped shaving when I placed my order on Amazon. There are definately areas on my leg (for me around the ankles - even within 2 inches of the ankle) that are more sensitive. Even those areas are bareable. The wide-open long areas of the leg hardly hurt at all. I would guess that under the arm and any where the skin is not already tight will hurt a lot. After I was done, there was no lasting pain. I used the starter-learn-how-to-do-it head instead of the standard head & it worked fine. I will likely use it again that way. I did not get any knicks or cuts. My legs are definately red with dots afterwards (both legs) like you would get with a bad razor burn. I did apply tea tree lotion & so far the red dots are still present & obvious. It is winter in Minnesota, so it isnt a problem now, but I am not sure I would use it on my way to vacation! I have had some previous lazer hair removal and found that to be equally painful and slow. This certianly is cheaper (but not permanent) than lazer and I can do it in my own home on my own time. Overall, I thought the product did what it is supposed to do (I can see the hair roots on the hair it pulled out) with minimal pain. Add-on note: have now used it on my fingers and it did NOT hurt at all. I was in a sunny, well-lit location, so was able to get all of the hair successfully. When I had the hair on my fingers lazered, it hurt A LOT... so I am definately impressed with the epilady on the fingers.
