Superb Entry Level Classical Guitar /
I did MANY hours of research on the internets to find a good entry level guitar. This is the one. Super happy. Sounds even better plugged. Did not play guitar before purchase. Trusted the various reviews online. Did need slight adjustments, but comes from factory extremely playable . Had slight fret buzz. Needs some sanding. Typical. Other than that — You really can't go wrong.

Great price for a great classical nylon-stringed guitar!
I love this guitar. It came stringed and ready to play out of the box. It takes two AA batteries. The built-in tuner works fantastically. After regular string break-in, it holds the tuning well. When I first learned to play guitar as a child, I had a Yamaha classical guitar. I opted for the black finish and it came without a blemish. It did not require any adjustment to the tress, but an Allen wrench was included. This guitar, for a mid-range priced affordable replacement of that childhood guitar, is a huge upgrade. It has a very intuitive crossover that readily and easily changes the dynamic sound through and amplifier. And, at this price point, you will be hard-pressed to find a factory classical guitar that delivers like this one. 10/10

Having fun 👌
I'm trying to learn to play the guitar at 72 years old (I just retired and this was on my bucket list…lol). I also have a Taylor 600 that I bought in the late 80’s and hardly touched because I could not practice enough to make it past the finger pain (traveling all the time). This guitar so easy to pick up, do a quick tune-up with the onboard tuner and play with little finger pain, I spend 1-2 hours per day practicing with Cordify and Justin's Guitar lesson. I don't sound good but the guitar does. It is well-made and looks great. Everything I have ever purchased from Yamaha has been great and fairly priced. There is no shortage of guitars in this price range $400-500+- and I did a lot of reading on the options. I am confident that to get the same quality from another manufacturer, I would have had to pay $300+- more.

Yamaha rocks.
The Yamaha NTX1 Is a great guitar. The craftsmanship is the next level, same as the sound quality. The amplifier control is a tuner as well. I love that feature. Small enough to be very easy to handle, and big enough to give the feeling of a full size guitar. I have two acoustic guitars, a Taylor and my new Yamaha. This Yamaha NTX1 is as bit as good as my Taylor if not better in some ways, and that is a lot to say knowing the quality of the Taylor guitars. Don’t let don’t Let The Price fool you, the guitar is really worth it.

Buzzing strings, lacking in sound
I really wanted to like this guitar, it looks absolutely gorgeous! It also sound great in all the videos I saw. But then I played it and... first, there was a lot of fret buzz, especially in the D string. It was unavoidable unless you press the string while touching the fret, which is not feasible when playing chords. The buzz was also there for the A and low E strings, but not as much. Now I know this can be fixed by a luthier, but the guitar is brand new, I expected better from Yamaha. That said, even when playing while ignoring the fret buzz, I found the sound lacking... it sounded way better plugged in. But unplugged, the sound really leaves a lot to be desired. This part is subjective, but it was the deal breaker for me, not the tone i want in a classical guitar. I want a guitar that sounds good both plugged in and unplugged, and this one wasn't it.

Need better quality strings on this instrument.
I tuned it and within 3 hours, the D string popped!!

Seems like a great beginner guitar
I'm a beginner, but steel strings (even thin coated ones) are just too hard on my fingers. The nylon strings require less pressure to play a note and are just on the fingers. I find that the volume is adequate without resorting to an amplifier for my needs. There is a cool feature in the electronics that I like as a beginner. The internal computer analyzes the frequency of a single note and displays its value; hence you can quickly see what note you just played if you haven't sorted out the frets and strings yet. I suppose if you are seasoned classical guitar played you don't need marks to guide you on which fret is which, but only #5 and #7 are marked with a dot on the side of the neck. I miss #3, #9 and a double #11. I suppose I could add my own dots, but this is the only thing I don't like about this guitar.

Very Good
This is not the cheapest playable guitar for beginners. Nor is it the only option in this price range. But it is a fun guitar to play. I have 15-16 guitars, but this is the one I'm currently playing around the house. I actually got it for a friend that is getting arthritis in his left hand and is finding it increasingly difficult to press the strings on a standard steel string. I think he is going to love this and maybe be able to continue playing for a few more years.

It’s a Yamaha. They make good decent everything. Won’t blow your mind, the sound is kinda thin but it plays lovely. Smaller fret space than you’d think for a nylon string but it has electronics. For the price there are trade offs but I’m not disappointed for the price
