Yes you can use it with a video doorbell, if....
I'm very pleased with this item. Easy to install and it does just what I hoped it would. However I have two comments: First, the product description says it does NOT work with video doorbells. It works fine with mine. If you have an inside chime, powered by a transformer (which is the way standard doorbells have worked all of my many years, then this will work. You can have both a video doorbell and an inside chime powered by a transformer, I do. Second, the device requires you to hook up three wires, red, black and white (white is only necessary if you have a doorbell for a rear entry door). The Instructions tell you where to connect the red wire, THEN they tell you to connect the black wire in two different places. One of these connections is supposed to be for the white wire but that is NOT what the instructions say. Hook the red wire to the connection on your doorbell chime which is for your FRONT door, hook the black wire to the transformer connection and hook the WHITE wire to the connection on your chime which is for the back door (or leave it unconnected if you do not have a rear entry doorbell. You'll be golden.

Great door bell extender.
I have had this door bell extender for about 3years and it works great as I have a hearing problem and the front door and bell are over 50 feet from the family room where I spend a lot of time.

Good doorbell extender.
Good doorbell extender for remote locations. Easy to install on existing doorbell wired system. Chime is plenty loud but is “tinny” sounding. You will definitely hear it and SEE it if you use the strobe light option.

How to program: Now you have a video.
What I like: 1. It's pretty loud. 2. You can program multiple receivers. 3. You can program it on your desk (no need to be attached to the doorbell) What I don't like: 1. Little information online on how to program. <= Hopefully fixed by my attached video. 2. The "tabs" to remove the cover are on the back side. If you attach to drywall how will you remove the cover without sticking the screwdriver between the cover and the drywall and damage to the drywall. Note: I have not attempted to install yet so I may update this comment. Update: It installed with ease. So the good thing is that you can do the programming while the device is on your table. Then when you install it- it just works. I would not recommend using the provided screws because I still don't have a fix for removal of the cover when you want to replace the battery. I just used some double sided sticky tape. This way the part of the drywall that gets damaged will be directly underneth the device rather than yanking all the screws out of the wall. It would be interesting to see how others have fared in an attempt to replace the battery one the unit has been screwed onto the wall. It is possible that when the screws are used you can just grab the cover and rip it off- hopefully the cover will break free before the screws, but I didn't want to take any chances.

Works well at advertised distance
We needed a doorbell extender with a receiver two floors up from the main doorbell, which was hard to hear. An older extender did not work at that distance. This one is just fine. Transmitter uses a lithium battery that will someday need replacing; the receiver plugs into a wall outlet. Different tones for front and back are easy to program - but follow the directions closely. Many chimes to choose from, and for the very hard of hearing (or if you play loud music) you can also have the receiver flash a strobe light. Only problem was a typo in the instructions that said to connect the black wire for the back door. That should have read white. The black wire is the common. The correct wiring is printed on the transmitter unit, however. Recommended.

Installing
Product works great. Install instructions great pairing the transmitter and the receiver 1 star. I suggest a link to a YouTube video where people can visualize how to pair. Written instructions confusing at least to me

Great Addition to a Home!
This was an easy install. I had to pull my old doorbell apart to locate the doorbell connections, but it was easier than I expected. I installed the transmitter and set it on top of the doorbell case. The receiver is plugged in downstairs, and I can now hear a doorbell ring whenever I am working in my shop. The flashing strobe light is a plus for a guy with bad ears who cannot wear hearing aids while working around power tools. Perfect! The only issue I had with the transmitter is access to the CR123 battery. You must pry the case open from the rear, which means that I could not screw mount the transmitter to the wall, I simply set it atop the doorbell housing with a long wire pig tail so that I could easily lift it and replace the battery in two years.

We have had this doorbell extender system, along with a second remote doorbell chime, since the beginning of June 2025. We have a three level townhouse with a second floor and a basement. The main doorbell chime is on the main floor, and these two extenders are on the second and basement floors. The installation was quite easy, although the instructions are again confusing, as are most written instructions for anything on the planet. However, the wireless bells on the two floors, despite being a whole floor apart, work perfectly each time the bell rings. The basement has a sliding door which is closed occasionally and the extender still works just fine. The ring is loud and there is a light which goes on if you choose to enable it, when the bell rings. No issues at all and very happy with this product!
