Arguably the best SAK tool set for everyday carry
YouTubers rave about the Compact, and I've always resisted purchasing one so I wouldn't feel like I'm blindly following the advice of EDC influencers. Well, I gifted one to my mom 2 years ago for Christmas and she loves it. I finally got tired of missing some features on my Climber and Pioneer X, so I finally bought the Compact when it was on sale last year and haven't looked back. It is the best Victorinox SAK for daily pocket carry. It has the tools you want and eliminates some of the crap you never use on wider SAKs. Best of all, it is slim and lightweight. It is noticeably lighter than the 3- and 4-layer SAKs I am used to. I really appreciate eliminating the redundancy of the can opener and bottle opener by combining them into one tool. Has anyone used the can opener in the last 10 years? Waste of space. No wood saw or small pen blade either. That allows 3 main tools overlapping in 2 layers. The reverse nail nick on the scissors is annoying compared to the traditional placement on the Climber, but it is much easier to access than the reverse nail nick on the Pioneer X. It also improves upon the secondary tools by adding 2 things in the same tool set. The useless parcel hook is still included, but at least they add a diamond file to the spine. Why don't they do this for every parcel hook? They also include the micro driver in the corkscrew, which is something you have to buy separately for most SAKs. I don't understand the choices by Victorinox sometimes. These are things that should be included with every hook and corkscrew. The ballpoint pen is fine. I carry a nice pen daily so it's not something I've ever needed on my SAK. I tried it out, and it'll work in a pinch. Don't expect to write a letter with it though. For anyone on the fence whether they should get a Compact because they already own an SAK. Trust me, it's worth the upgrade if you want to slim down your EDC.

My favorite SAK
This is the perfect SAK for EDC. Has the most basic and useful tools in the most compact and carryable package. There are other models with as many or more tools, but they are thicker and heavier and more noticeable in the pocket. Not a big deal if you're carrying it in a backpack, waist pack, sling, etc., but the compact is hardly noticeable in the pocket. Now if this came as an 84 mm model, it would be perfect.

Perfect carry if you don't want to carry a folding knife and smaller Victorinox
My daily carry is always the Victorinox Rambler, a folding knife, and Space Fisher pen. Sometimes, I don't want to carry all three so I decided to get the Compact. It has everything I need and it is well made as expected from Victorinox. It's thinner than the Camper but thicker than the Cadet. I don't need a saw for daily carry and the Cadet doesn't have the tooth pick, tweezers, and scissors. Compact offers all that in such a nice package with the tools that work great, especially the scissors. It sits in the bottom of the front pocket with minimal printing or taking up space. Love it!

One of the absolute best tools, hands-down.
I could not believe that I actually got one of these for less than 50 or $60 which is where this model typically sits. Based on the photo I did not think that it would come with the little screwdriver, but it did. This is my third of the Victorian Knox compact and it’s one of my absolute favorites for just every day carry. Now I love a Leatherman as much as the Next guy or My larger Victorian Knox player multitool, but there are times where you don’t need or don’t want to carry such a large tool. This has your bare basics, your knife, the fantastic scissors which no other tool to this day in my opinion can still be And your basic flathead bottle opener, and all that jazz. It fits perfectly in your hand. It’s not an oversized tool, but it’s not so small. You’re gonna lose it like the tiny little keychain size ones the classic this is a great every day carry tool that for 99% of people will be able to do most things that you need to do. I personally could care less about the toothpick, but having the tweezers has come in handy many times and it’s also a very non-threatening knife you pull this thing out and no one bats and I at you because everybody knows what a Swiss Army knife is the quality is excellent as usual from Victoria Knox if you can get it for 39 or 40 bucks like I did pick one or two of them up, they’re just that good.

Deserves a spot in most peoples EDC
While my favorite Swiss Army Knife is the Mini Champ, this one is great to have around for slightly bigger jobs. I was surprised at how useful the ballpoint pen has been, and while I haven’t found a use for the parcel hook yet, I’m excited for that to happen someday in my lifetime. Excellent hardware and action on every tool here. Easy to recommend.

Amazing SAK!
This has a surprisingly useful toolset. Just about anything you would actually need on your day to day activities. Nice sharp blade, amazing scissors, the combo tool… I use all of these things daily. The addition of the scale tools, and the nail file on the shank of the parcel hook are handy as well. I always install Tec P-7 clips onto my SAK’s. On this particular model, I swapped the original red scales for black ones.

Great pocket tool!
I like it a lot. It is relatively compact in terms of a full-size Swiss Army Knife. My preference is for something slimmer. I carry an older 84 mm SAK Executive. I also like the.Classic a ton. I like the compact, but it’s more of a jacket type carry, as it will cause extra weight in your pockets. It’s not a big deal and offers a lot of functionality. The quality is top-notch, it’s very easy to use and you’re always feel special using a Swiss Army Knife. I’m sure it will last a lifetime and longer.

Perfect EDC
Best EDC knife! Has everything I need at a perfect size. I attached a clip to the keyring and it is suspended in my pocket. Flew with this to Germany as these are legal to carry there. Best of the Swiss Army knives

I really love this knife - great mix of small size yet still having a large enough knife and scissors to be useful. The pen and the pin are pretty nice additions too.

Yes, it is, compared to other two-layered SAKs (Swiss Army Knife), more expensive, but it has good reasons for it. Victorinox put a lot of brain matter into this little wonder. The tools need a different cut so that they can easily be placed next to each other. The main blade is slightly shifted in an almost unnoticeable "S" shape, so it fits perfectly next to the full size (!) scissors and the combination tool with bottle opener, can opener and screwdriver in 5 mm. As well as, the parcel hook has a file on top of it. These little details which need expertise to build in a SAK, so you can enjoy the high quality and functionality without any sacrifices. It is in my EDC (Every Day Carry) pouch. I needed a lightweight but highly functional multi tool which only takes a small space in my pouch. I have other larger and heavier Victorinox knives which I love dearly. I didn't want to go full heavy duty with this one. In a zombie apocalypse, I feel comfortable with my Victorinox compact. ;-) Pros: - 13 useable tools in a very compact and slim matter without the key ring. Victorinox counts the key ring as a tool, which is quite funny. - High quality stainless steel which does not rust - Lightweight (64g) and slim sized - Full size scissors. Victorinox does not integrate fully-sized scissors in its mid-sized models, mainly in its two-layered small to medium sized models. They made an exception with this particular model. As a matter of fact, you will not find a two-layered mid sized SAK with scissors easily to non existent. Exclusivity does demand a higher price. - Integrated screwdriver which is nesting in the corkscrew. You put the screwdriver backward into the corkscrew and you have an elongated flathead screwdriver. - The Combo Tool is not produced in volume. This increases the cost of production. - the usual suspects: toothpick, tweezers, a hidden stainless steel pin and a pressurised ballpoint pen. Tip: open the parcel hook and put the pen in between. Put down the hook towards the pen and you have an elongated pen which is easier to handle. - You get a lifetime guarantee. Victorinox will replace and oil the tools and scales, if necessary, without objection. You only have to pay the shipping costs. You will receive an almost new knife. - High quality through decades of experience - It doesn't look scary when you pull it out. For some reason, the red scales with the cross makes you even trustworthy. Cons: - the combination tool with bottle opener, can opener and screwdriver is not as sturdy as the usual dedicated can opener in the majority of Victorinox knives. The can opener itself cause a little pain because it doesn't grip very well into cans due to the straightened blade. It runs thinner towards the front because it has to have space next to the blade. Because of this, the function as a cap lifter is not as sturdy as in other, larger knives. All in all, it does the job. - Wire stripper! It's a joke. It is unjustified to put the price in the "cons" category. Victorinox put a lot of effort into this product. You pay for quality, experience, workmanship and a lightweight solution for a multi tool. The pros overweight the cons due to the above explained exclusivity of this model.
