This builds into a decent model of the famed WWII destroyer. There are some very very small parts, which are almost impossible to glue into place correctly, even with tweezers and a magnifier.

Excellent value and delivery time.

I've been building 1/700 scale ship model kits from the Japanese "Waveline" consortium since the 1970s. I had not realized that this model kit was available until I was randomly searching the Amazon website and saw it. So I ordered two kits from the Amazon Associate in Japan. I haven't built one of the kits yet (I'm building another kit that I started before the two kits arrived) but they look good as I've com to expect from the manufacturer, Tamiya.

I'm glad they started making more WW2 U.S. destroyers. I am building a project that I have been working on for ever. I still need some destroyers that haven't been produced in plastic. Resin is to expensive. This kit was perfect. Though it would be nice to carry decals for rest of sims class destroyers.

Great model overall, just underestimated how small this thing is. It's tiny, did I mention it's tiny? Cause it is. Lol

ワスプはアオシマさんだったので、なんでタミヤから出た？と多少、違和感ありましたが、特徴ある艦影をうまく再現しています。同型艦や、似た系列の米駆逐艦のベースキットになるので、説明書に触れてくれたり、デカールをサービスして欲しかったかな…。

無難な感じになっています。驚きはありませんが、堅実に組めるという安心感があるのが自分にとってのタミヤの魅力でしょうか。駆逐艦だけあってパーツも少ないですし、初めて艦プラモを製作したい方にも勧められると思います。小さいパーツはありますが、1/700のレベルでは普通にある大きさですので慣れる意味合いでもよいプラモだと思います。 最初から迷彩塗装ではありませんので、無理に迷彩塗装にする必要もないと思います。

このキットは、シムス級として、4隻、このキットはベースに他のクラスの駆逐艦に改造、2隻製作。今後更に5隻製作予定。
