Fantastic. We purchased this for a 6 year old girl and it fits her face without issue. It is completely leak free. The snorkel does include a float which closes when the top goes under water. It works and keeps her from breathing water if a wave goes over the top (we use this in a lake). We've tried other brands and found nothing which fit properly until we tried this. It is a fantastic set. The only improvement I could want is a little more length in the snorkel. It is a bit on the short side but there are not any issues since it has a float which will not let air or water in when a wave goes over the top of the snorkel.

Bought this for my 6-year-old daughter for a trip to Hawaii. This is a nice quality kit, not something made of cheap material just because it's for kids. The adjustment straps on the mask are excellent. Very easy to loosen and tighten once you know how they work.A sizing issue to be aware of: The fins and the mask in the S/M set were just barely small enough to fit her. She is on the smaller side, but not tiny for her age. The mask sealed OK but ran right from her hairline to the bottom edge of her upper lip, so just barely small enough. The flippers fit a tiny bit loosely even tightened to the max. In fact, she broke the rubber strap trying to tighten it past the maximum. That's not the fault of the product, just a 6-year-old who doesn't know her own strength. They do float if they come off.My only complaint is the angle of the snorkel tube is a bit different than I'm used to and it took a lot of fiddling to get it to line up properly so it would point up while her face was in the water.

Pink Set: DO NOT BUY!!Santa gave this to my 8 yr old daughter. She was thrilled as was my son who received the blue one. It was purchased in Sept ahead of time for the holidays. We were taking our kids to Hawaii in February and then both asked for good fins/masks/snorkels on their Santa list.Unlike my sons blue set, the pink was NOT as shown in the photo. The snorkel piece was different and didn't have the water cap (shown in orange) on the top to prevent water from entering the snorkel. The clasp on the snorkel for hooking onto the mask was impossible to use as well. The worst was that the even without the snorkel attached the mask leaked nearly too much to even use.Fins are fine, but really overall this whole set was such a disappointment especially after the blue one being so good. I've heard comments from my daughter like "Santa's elves really didn't do a good job on my snorkel" and "I wish you could return this to a store, but I know Santa made it, so it can't".Of course, since we didn't use the set until February, it is now too late to return or exchange. A waste of money for sure!!Blue Set:It is completely different and does work!! Although the seal on the masks could vary from one to another.Works great, fits great. No problems at all with this for my 6.5 yr old son. He has larger feet (size 2.5) and the fins fit well if adjusted small.Top of snorkel is as shown in photo and really helps prevent water from seeping into snorkel for a young beginner.

Bought this set for our 6 year old granddaughter for a cruise. For the price I felt it was an exceptional product. It was easy to adjust and all items fit her well. It only took her about 10 minutes in the water to figure out how to snorkel. I would not even consider getting a snorkel without a valve to prevent water from going down the snorkel.

I have 20 years of diving experience so I'll review each piece seperately.Fins - great. These are super well made and fit kids great.Vest - ok, does its job but nothing specialMask - good (not great) - would not use this for kids older than 8 or so, they are a bit small but a decently well madeSnorkel - junk. I mean just total garbage, everything from the snorkel keeper to the bite, to the valve that keeps water out. Expect to have to buy a new snorkel after the first couple times use. Super disappointed with how bad this was.If not for the snorkel probably would have given 4 stars.

The first time this went into the ocean, the adjustable thing on the side broke. This caused the mask to become loose immediately upon putting it on and rendered it unusable. We had to go to Dick's and buy a new mask the night before our trip to the springs. The snorkel was great, though, and really does keep out water.

Purchased this as a b-day gift. It arrived 3 days early and much to our surprise...right on time for my son's 7th birthday! He tried it out the next day at the lake, and the mask fits great, NO leaks! The snorkel works like a charm too. My nine year old tried it too and loved it. Now he wants a set too. Very pleased.

The mask and snorkel and really great. They function very well in fairly rough surf and are sturdy for at least two seasons. I rate them as "excellent".The fins are also great. However they have a flaw. The back strap broke off one of them during the end of the first season, making the pair no use at all. I had bought the set for a granddaughter, so it was very disappointing.It was way past any warranty, so I have had to purchase a second, replacement set.I hope Promate will think of a way to improve the back strap.
