Awesome tape measure
I actually bought one of these years ago and have used it for work all that time, it's always been a big hit with all ages! And actually a very practical and excellent tool, I like that it's extra long. However, I made the mistake of giving it to a colleague's kid to entertain her while we had a meeting and the spring broke, so I ordered this replacement. Still well worth the cost, I love it all over again.

Easy, fun, useful
Fun for the toddler to play with and easy for the adults to use when ours goes missing. Good stocking stuffer and for learning #s and to measure. Retractability is a little sticky sometimes and tough for toddler hands but easy enough for parents to help

Disappointed
We needed a tape measure a 3 yr old could learn with that was safe. This seemed to be the answer until 15 minutes into measuring things and pushing the retractable button, the metal insides sprung out! I had to take the new toy that he chose away. It is under $10 and to exchange or return it, a special trip would have to be incorporated to a drop site. He was disappointed but satisfied with the pretense he will get another tape measure. Start them young while they’re interested!

Great Learning Tool for Small Hands
My five and seven year old boys very much wanted a real, retractable "toy" tape measure, unsatisfied with the toy wind-up versions and unhappy that I wouldn't let them play with my real tape measure (for fear they would be hurt by the sharp metal tape). This one satisfied them completely, and they were delighted by the fun measurement facts -- e.g. the length of a velociraptor, the height of batman, etc! It's also small and fits well in their hands. The metal loop on the end makes it easy to hold and has been useful to them as they work together to measure everything all over the house. What's more, my seven year old is learning about measurement (inches/feet) in first grade, so this helps him put his newfound knowledge into action. I highly recommend.

Really wanted to love it, but...
Arrived quickly. So that's a plus. I really, really, really wanted this to be more perfect than it is. It broke recently and we can't get it to rewind. The printing is a bit blurry and there aren't as many indicators of dates as I wanted. To skip from 300 million BC to 35 million BC and then skip all the way to 10,000 BC, well, you can see that there are a few missing numerical dates. There are VISUAL images for more things, but seems like the meteor that crashed into earth and killed off the dinosaurs should have its own approximate numerical date. Don't you think? Also... since the universe "sort of" has a beginning but as yet no end seems like the tape should be organized the other way around, giving kids an opportunity to extend the drawing and imagine further into the future. After the smart phone at the end of the timeline there is an automobile... I'm guessing that is self-driving autos? A very nice ending. Should keep this relevant for another 10 year or so until the next "big thing" I like it, I don't love it, and I am keeping it though, as it's a good start. I think it will help my children understand that so much has happened in the earth before our time on earth and that's what I wanted it to do. We will also have fun using it for a Big Bang theme song sing-a-long. haha!!!

Got this for our autistic child who loves numbers and was always playing with our heavy-duty tape measure. This one is light, safe, and fun — plus the little facts make it even more engaging. He absolutely loves it! I’d definitely recommend this to any parent looking for a safe and engaging way to encourage learning through play. It’s well made, easy to use, and such a clever idea.

He usado este producto para una clase de historia en la educación primaria, para concretar y materializar el tiempo historico y el paso del tiempo. El producto pero es de muy baja calidad ya que se rompió con el primer uso.
