The Hardwired Kit has been running for a few weeks now and its not drained the battery yet with the vantrues parking mode set to on. I originally wanted the one that connects into the OBD slot where the computers are hooked up to scan the car when the engine lights come on, but I'm sort of glad I got this one as its not going to block the OBD port. Seems to be a working & legit switch thus far.. I've heard and seen bad reviews, but I've not personally had any issues yet. I used the fuse that controls my seat as it is live & hot 24/7 and it seems to be killing the cam before the car battery dies out to cause any start-up issues. The kit was actually pretty easy to install and run (I did have and use the trim tools for easy prying and hiding) with plenty of cord to spare, in my little Hyundai coupe. I think you'd like it and I don't see anyone having issues with it, giving its the same quality and stock as what I received. Pros: The Kit does come with several sizes of fuse adapters for all makes and models. The Kit has easy covers to keep the wires safe for when you tether the adapter to the main accessory. The Kit had plenty of cord and should even leave some over for larger sedans/suvs/trucks. The Kit seems to be working and has not caused battery drainage on my car. [i.e. I have not got in my car with it having a dead battery. car starts normally & battery stays charged] Cons: The Kit has no fuse tool.. I've never seen a kit that contains fuse adapters that have no fuse tool. It'd be nice to see future kits that contain the fuse tool! haha. (personal opinion only) The Kits adhesive strips are a bit cruddy, but 3M isn't expensive for a few strips/clips... The Kits Fuse Adapter is stiff.. The empty slot on the adapter piece where u place your fuse is way too tight & I had issues with getting a fuse out once it was put in. Overall: Its a good Kit and Well Worth the Buy for a 24/7 power supply for your Vantrue N4.. ** I do use parking mode with motion and collision detection activated

This was the perfect accompanying piece to my Vantrue E1 Pro cam and installed easily into my Chevy Camaro. The Camaro does not have a fuse box in the cabin and the cords that came with this hardwire kit were easily long enough to reach the fuse box under the hood. I had plenty of excess cable to work (and hide) when I was done. No complaints at all.

Works decent would be nice if it was just included with the camera

Best hardwire kit of all ( note if you guys having trouble using it make sure that the ground wire is in the proper spot because it's not gonna work if your ground wire is not on the right spot) overall easy to use.

When I ordered this hardwire I thought it was going to be complicated to install so I called around electronic shops and asked how much it cost for them to run my wire. They said $120. Well after really looking at how to install to fuse box in my 2021 F350 king Ranch I decided to do the job my self I just took my time and ran cable where it’s no show anywhere. Ran rear to front through passenger side. Very easy to install. I used slot 5 on my fuse box because that’s always hot when truck is off and the ACC wire to slot 37 on fuse box. One thing. Make sure when connecting the pigtails to the wire, do not over push the connection because it doesn’t make contact. You will see what I mean. It goes in and locks in right away but I over pushed one and was not turning on when truck was off. Simple little fix. I just don’t know my own strength.

Very easy to install. It comes with various fuse-size wire adaptors where you just remove the fuse that's already occupied in the fuse panel and insert it into the open slot in the wire adaptor. The wire adaptor already has the correct value fuse installed for the dashcam. The control box has a switch for 12V setup or 24V setup needed to make sure that you're battery doesn't completely die if it ends up with a continuous power draw. The red wire connects to your always hot power, yellow is for only hot when its in the on or the accessory position, the black to any grounded portion of the car. For my case, I'm getting the "always hot" red wire from my power door locks slot, "accessory" from my power window slot, and the black grounded wire from a bolt nearby that goes straight onto the body of the car. My dash cam E360 works great with just a turn on/off from my ignition key. Very handy setup.

First off, I've been using Vantrue products and recommending them to fellow motorcyclists for some time. Namely, the Vantrue F1, which is an awesome well thought out and reliable dashcam for motorcycles. I decided to upgrade my 11-year old trusty 1080P antique that has been bulletproof and reliable all this time except for battery changes. The N5 is my first Vantrue automobile system. I thought I would get the same performance and reliability I got from the F1. I was wrong. The festivities began after I did a perfect and neat install. Everything hooked up properly and secured. Setup was easy and straightforward. All complete and ready for testing. This is where things started to go sideways, the camera would NOT shut off when the ignition was turned off. Yes, the yellow accessory wire was hooked up to the switched fuse and power did go off when the ignition was off, but the camera still is running. After my testing, I am confident it is a defective hard wire kit. So I tried to call tech support only to find out they have no listed phone number, but they will call you back after you fill out the form. I did and no call. I did get an e-mail the next morning asking a single question expecting an answer for what I had already provided. I never heard back from them again. So I just went ahead and purchased another hardwire kit and tested it prior to installing it. IT NOW WORKS!!! Come on guys, you knew this has been a constant and persistent issue with these hardwire kits since mid-2023 and you're still selling them and providing abysmal support for them. I've done lots of research about trying to resolve this problem on my own. I'm highly disappointed that Vantrue would ruin their good name over a $20 accessory to a $400 dashcam. Please rectify this issue for the many people suffering with it. I will not recommend any Vantrue dashcam that requires the hardwire kit.
