O Wine Tumbler Oaked Chardonnay, Set of 2

We bought 2 of every kind of Riedel O glass, and the Chardonnay glass is one of my favorites. It has a wide mouth to open the nose perfectly for the wine, and is a delight to use for everyday wine, which is what we use this series for. When we splurge on a really expensive Chardonnay, I usually opt for the stemmed Riedel glasses. We love the vinum and XL series. Riedel makes outstanding glassware and we're pleased with our purchases.

Stemless Chardonnay glasses aren't for everyone, and indeed we don't use these for wine. However, they make for excellent glasses (crystal). They're beautifully thin, and a joy to use, making up our selection of everyday water glasses.

The belly of this glass is about ½" larger diameter than the Riedel all purpose wine goblet, which makes it difficult for me to hold in my medium size hand. Women just ask to have it replaced with one they can hold. Quality of glass, however, is unbeatable for the price.

I’ve had lots of Riedel glasses, and love these ones. Great for red or white wines. The globe shape is distinct from other Riedel and guests always have compliments. They’re quite fragile and chip easily along the rim (not irregular for Riedel).

Oaked Chardonnay. These glasses are very fragile. The only one I used on the day I received them broke while just sitting on the counter waiting to be washed by hand. A round hole just broke out of the widest part of the bowl, no human intervention at all. What if that happened while someone was actually drinking out of it? A cut hand with blood and wine all over? Much too thin to be practical. I do not recommend at all. Perhaps a bad batch, but now I am convinced that Reidel wine glasses are highly overrated. It is unlikely that I will even use the second glass in order to avoid disaster.

These glasses are delicate yet VERY durable, and very pretty! They really do make a difference in the Chardonnay experience - I obviously can't explain it very well, but these allow the Chardonnay scent to reach your nose better which improves the flavor - compare with a differently shaped glass and you will see.

Love these glasses! Great - and you don't worry as much about spilling as with stemmed glasses.

This is a nice wine glass in tumbler form. It also works great for single malt scotch! The glass feels a little fragile (even by wine glass standards), but after almost two months I haven't broke one yet. My only gripe is that the tumbler is a bit big and awkward in my hand. That is a pretty picky comment, but it is a little too big.
