Tibetan Buddhist Om Mani Handmade Copper Prayer Wheel

I puchased this as a gift for a family member. It arrived well packaged and safe. Upon unpacking I immediately thought it seemed like a quality item. The hidden prayer scroll was the first thing the recipient of the gift went for. Well crafted, beautiful, functional product!

The wheel looks nice. It does the job, it wheels fine. It also comes with the mantras rolled in paper inside. The little metal stone outside, looks durable and properly attached to the filling cabinet. But I give 4 stars because it came poorly varnished. It was all sticky, so after I used acetone I got a great finish.

It fell apart as soon as I lifted it out of the box. I’m very disappointed. I was so excited to get home and open the package. Very disappointed. Very.

Built not that well, falls apart really quick and needs to be push fit again and again. Looks great but not for use anyway. I will not recommend it to anyone at this time.

At first, it seems flimsily made, but that is because the metal top is fastened to the wooden handle in a way that makes it easy to spin. If it was more firmly attached, it wouldn't spin. It is actually not flimsy at all, although I wouldn't advise being too rough on it. It's a meditation tool / prayer wheel, not a child's toy.It spins smoothly and easily and is well made. It operates easily and is a very nice size to fit in your hand.

It's pleasant to look at but the pin slips out the minute you pick it up and it has to be put back together.For $30 I expected a bit more than that.There should be a little tooth or something in the uppermost part that allows movementbut still keeps the straight pin inside. With the cost of returning and having to swallow the postage and handling,I would end up having paid for it almost twice.I will rethink what kind of wheel I would like if I choose to purchase one again.So for now it remains a decoration only. If that isn't an issue I would recommend it - other wise I think I would encourageyou to spend a bit more and get a quality one that can be attached to a wall so you can spin it coming and going.

I had one of these for years that I got at a Tibetan monastery - this one was very similar, not some cheap knockoff. I love it!

I am very happy with my prayer wheel and wish that I could give it 5 stars. However I had the same trouble others listed in that the wheel easily slips off the pin. Aside from that issue, I am content with my purchase.
