AC Power Cord Cable 10FT for VIZIO TV with Life Time Warranty

I bought this cable for my vizio smart tv because I hung it on a wall mount and I needed a longer power cord. After plugging the cord in, the tv works but the remote that came with the tv does not. It's almost like the tv knows that the cord is an after market cable and it's being stubborn. Anyway, I'm not sure how long I will be able to tolerate not having the remote work only because this vizio remote has special buttons to use the tv apps that the universal remotes do not. Also, the volume on the universal remote will no longer operate... Ugh.

We bought this aftermarket cord because we mounted our tv above our bed at about 8 feet from the power socket while our tv cord was only 6 feet. It powered the television with no problem. Why does this have a requirement for the amount of words you use?
