Rokinon 24mm T1.5 Wide Angle Cine Lens for Olympus and Panasonic Micro 4/3 (MFT) Mount Digital Cameras (CV24M-MFT)

Soft at T-1.5 but stellar above T-2.5. Price has little to do with the value of this lens- I'm using a set of non-DS Rokinon's for video while my Canon L series glass stays home. I've even gotten back into using manual focus for stills with the Rokinon's. I'm old school from back when that's all we had- there is definitely something more organic and personal about manual focus and prime lenses.What I find interesting is that it exactly matches color and contrast with my 35mm Rokinon cine I've had for years. Can't say that about any of my L series lens.Updated April1, 2016Got a chance to shoot some stills in Napa Valley with it on a Sony A7Rii and think the lens did extremely well. The more I use the entire line the more I appreciate the quality, especially at this price point. Also picked up the 50 and 85mm's to add to the 24 and 35mm's and the color/contrast match is spot on across the set. My L series lenses are gathering dust at this point. Above 2.8 and the Rokinons are hard to beat let alone for the price.

Disappointingly soft wide-open. Stop down two stops and it’s quite good. Build quality is typical Rokinon, which is to say, solid. This is my third Rokinon and the aperture ring on this one is quite stiff compared to my other two. Don’t know why, but hoping it loosens up a bit.

This is a great 24mm lens. In comparisons I've seen, it compares favorably to the Canon L-series equivalent in all areas except flare. The Rokinon appears to flare a bit more. For cine usage, this can sometimes be advantageous for artistic purposes.Overall, I love the lens. It is certainly a bit bulky, but the quality is top-notch. If you want a smaller, lighter lens at this focal length, try using a 24mm f/2. I have an old Nikon AIS 24mm lens on an adapter that works well for this purpose.

I'm no lens guru, and I don't have much of a budget, so these lenses are perfect.Coming from shooting DSLR to the Black Magic Cinema Camera, I was at least familiar with the functionality of these lenses. First thing I shot with them was a wedding and these were the only lenses I used on my camera. It takes a bit of getting used to working with all primes, but, with a t1.5 aperture, it's worth giving up the zoom since lighting isn't always the best.I would recommend getting some super-wide angle lenses if you are shooting on a crop sensor like the BMCC as it more than doubles the focal length on these cameras (this one equates to about a 50mm).The lenses are nice and heavy, suggesting a good build, and the focus is smooth. I haven't tried them with a follow-focus yet, but, anticipate doing so in the near future.The de-clicked aperture is a nice feature too. It adds a smoothness to changing exposures while shooting that you cannot get with a regular DSLR lens, but, that can also be a problem if you are not paying attention because the aperture ring is easy to bump. That is in no way a complaint, just an observation and an issue I chalk up to user error and must get used to.All in all, I really like these lenses and would recommend them to anyone on a budget. They are what they are, and what they are is an affordable tool to help you tell your story. I'm sure there are gear snobs who would frown on these, but, I feel that gear snobbery comes from a lack of vision and skill.

I purchased this item,it did not work properly. I sent for a refund, i ended up losing 126. in restocking fee all because their equipment did not function correctly, very unhappy. I will never buy from this again.....I give zero star rating

If you are in the market for CP.2's, Canon L lenses, or better than you have deeper pockets- even still this lens will impress you. On a Black Magic Cinema Camera, this lens is great. Just don't forget the crop factor makes it closer to a 50 to 55 mm lens. Wide open it seems pretty sharp- nice since usually 2 stops down is generally sharpest for lenses. I love the de-clicked aperture. I also use a tokina 11-16 in order to cover wider focal lengths, so I can appreciate being able to smoothly dial the aperature up and down at will. Its all digital clicking with the tokina.
