The most important product ever created since cavemen mastered Fire!
This Traeger is the Leonardo Da DaVinci and the “Ironwood 885” is the Mona Lisa of Grills/SMOKER! This is a machine that God himself is in complete Awe! This jaw dropping Product is so good!!! It’s got the ease of Propane with the flavor of Wood/Charcoal! It is absolutely SIMPLE to use! A friend brought a Tri Tip to thanksgiving and promised I would like the product. I tried an end Piece (my favorite) and Time Froze! Floating on cloud 9! I could feel the warmth and happiness in my empty stomach. I PURCHASED ONE THE NEXT DAY! Ironwood 885. Noted Observations, 1. The product is HIGH Quality metal. 2. Assembly was simple. 3. They give you a cool Screwdriver and not that useless Garbage bits other Self assembly product give you. 4. Very large grates and cooking space 5. It’s operation is straight forward 6. It’s operation is , Set Temp, warm up, add meat (or your Tofurkey), push the super Smoke button, set timer and come back when done! The assembly was Simple. I’ve used it every day since I got it. Day 1, Burgers and Tri Tip Day 2, Tri Tip again Day 3, Home made sausage (*Drool*) Day 4, Roast Beef Day 5, Pork Spare Ribs (A must) Day 6, tonight, BEEF BACK RIBS! This one I put in the smoker around 12 noon and we sat down and ate at 6:45pm. A LOOOONG Low & Slow Heat & Smoke cook. The final Product was so SO GOOD! I could not imagine food the same way again. This is my first smoker but been with friend who use a different smoker. Nothing got me excited like this one! In fact, out of the thousands of Products I’ve purchased, this is one of a few I actually took the time to add a review. It’s that good! Ya, it’s 1500, but dollar for dollar, a stove is a 1500 dollar heat source. Traeger is a Machine of the Gods! Just look at those Ribs in the photo I added! I am new to the smoker world and this is what this machine has done for me, as a beginner! I cant wait until I fully understand the Art of Smoking! Brisket is next on the list for tomorrow, saved the best for last! Don’t be that person all sad in front of your stove dreaming of the Traeger Lisa machine! Just GET IT!!! Best purchase I ever made! Great grill!
I ordered this after my electric smoker had an internal grease fire and burned up. Its easy to assemble and quite large so make sure you have room for it. I felt the smaller one would have worked fine but the additional cost for a bigger one was minimal. First, it makes smoked brisket ez. I've done 2 and both were better than most BBQ places I've been to anywhere in the country. The supersmoke option provided a great smokey flavor and ring. The first brisket was into cooking only 6 hrs and it started to rain. I ended up pulling it off, wrapping in paper and finishing in the over. the bark held up, and it was just perfect. As it's actually burning wood instead of smoldering chips, the flavor is so much better. I'm still working out the reverse sear for steaks, chicken, chops. Starting them out at 225 to just under the desired internal temp and then crank the grill up to 475. Last steaks were great this way. Clean up is easy, simply clean the grates, dump the grease bucket, and vacuum up the pellet dust. The wifi app works really nice, so much better than my other bluetooth smoker. They promote not having to deal with propane tanks but when you think about fueling the grill for long cooks, you use up alot of pellets at nearly $20 a bag. I've done the 2 briskets, and 4 other shorter dinner cooks and have gone through just under 3 bags. Not a complaint, just my experience. The preformed foil drip liners are also pricey but you can use regular foil to save money there. If you have the money, enjoy the flavor of wood cooked foods, and a passion for outdoor cooking, just get one. You wont be dissapointed. I'm very happy with th

Upgrade from the Pro 575
Amazon front door delivery! Big Amazon box truck arrived, two very friendly workers removed from truck and placed in our garage. I Assembled a week later. Grill was in perfect shape, super easy to Put together. Grill is a lot more sturdy than our Pro 575, and the Ironwood was a bigger cooking space. Pros: nice square, textured grip for opening main door. Fireproof rope on door where it closes (to keep heat and smoke in). Hopper is large enough to hold an entire bag of pellets, light inside of hopper where there is now a pellet sensor. No smoke stack! We got the bundle that came with the folding front shelf and cover. The “Traeger” brand cover for the Pro 575 was junk, we ended up getting an aftermarket that was a lot better. However the new “Traeger” cover that came in the bundle is an upgrade! First cook, was beer can chicken! Perfect. Ohh, the super smoke option!!!! This is game changing. )Only works between 165 and 225) Cons. I wish Traeger would make a handle light for cooking at night, we bought an aftermarket magnet one. The probe that came with the grill is ok, but I never cook one thing, so we have a 4 probe, probe! Wish there was a better option for the grease catch, we use a mason jar in the tin can, as the foil liners always leaked. And we always use tin foil to cover the drip pan, as the Traeger liners are over priced. Overall it is sleek and sexy compared to the Pro with the smokestack. Totally recommend if you want to upgrade, kinda pricy for your first Traeger, but you won’t regret the cost of this if it’s your first pellet smoker.

This is the best smoker out their
This pellet smoker is BOSS. I LOVE IT. Assembly was as easy as it gets. It was delivered really fast. I downloaded the Traeger app and connected it to my WiFi & smoker very easily. Seasoned the grill then cooked some Ribs. It's so nice to be able to monitor the process with your phone from anywhere. What a time savor. And the RESULTS ARE CRAZY GOOD. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND BUYING THIS. TRAEGER IS THE BEST OUT THERE!

Works well but bigger than I needed
I had trouble with the smoker for the first few times. Eventually I figured out how to use it correctly. The smoker has some nice features, especially the ability to control the temperature and track the thermostat on the app over the Internet. When I make brisket (cooking for about 12 hours), I can leave the house and still track it's progress. The smoker uses more pellets than I expected. A brisket would go through over half a bag cooking in the summer. I suspect it may use more during cooler seasons. The smoker is bigger than my Weber grill. Even when I'm cooking for our small family, I find myself wanting to fill it and make multiple meals in advance. (To get value out of the pellets) If I could go back, I would have bought the smaller version (which I believe is only sold in brick and mortar stores). Overall I am happy with it, but I use it less than I used my previous electric smoker because of its size and the quantity of pellets it uses.

Worst pellet grill I have owned or used
I NEVER write reviews of products, but this purchase was so disappointing I just had to write something. I second another review that refers to the Ironwood 885 a smokeLESS convection oven. This thing never produced any smoke once it got through its start up cycle. None. You can't even smell the aroma of pellets burning with this thing. I was in disbelief. I emptied the hopper since the pellets I was using came out of my previous pellet grill, thinking maybe they had dried out too much in the old smoker, and went to the store and purchased fresh pellets. Nothing different, the same result of no smoke or aroma. My wife even asked why she couldn't smell anything while this thing was operating. I tried super smoke mode, no difference other then the larger temperature fluctuations. To add insult to injury, the Traeger app has not functioned properly since owning it. The app stops updating the cook data when it goes idle and then you have to force close the app and reopen to get your updated temperatures and everything else, which is completely worthless. Apparently that began being a major issue around Thanksgiving 2022. Don't believe me? Go check the app reviews on the play store. Traeger drove the app off a cliff, making this anything but a smart grill. $1,600 and the app doesn't even work for months at a time? No thanks. The only way I can see someone giving this a positive review is if they have never owned a pellet grill/smoker before and didn't know what to expect. Even then I can't imagine being satisfied with the purchase at this price level. My old $400 Pit Boss vertical smoker from Lowes smokes circles around this "premium" grill. If your willing to spend this much on a pellet grill, do yourself a massive favor and save a little longer and get one from Lone Star Grillz, Yoder, or one of the other companies that produce actual premium products that SMOKE AND HAVE WORKING APPS. Otherwise, save your money and go buy a cheaper unit from a big box store that will still give you more flavor and a more enjoyable experience. I truly hope I just got a lemon and this isn't the actual experience everyone else is having when it comes to smoke production and flavor. Hopefully Traeger fixes the app so it actually functions for all their customers some time soon, but they sure don't seem to be very concerned with it or be working with any urgency on it as it has already been 2 months of misery for everyone.

Superb Smoker - Exceptional Quality
The Ironwood 885 meets every expectation. It's very obvious that Traeger knows how to make a pellet stove. It cooks good too! HaHa Assembly in about 50 minutes which doesn't include setting up the WiFi or "seasoning". Seasoning will take almost another hour and you can setup the Wi-Fi and create an account with Traeger while that is occurring. Small nit: why is the unit delivered with all the international cords in the U.S.? The power cord was inside the pellet hopper while the other cords were in a box which made me think I was missing the cord I needed! Perhaps throw all the power cords in the same box Traeger. After seasoning was done, I prepped a 3.5 lb tri-tip. Started the pre-heat, then loaded the "Smoked Tri-Tip" recipe using the app. I used the "Super Smoke" option to see how that worked. TIP: WAIT to hit "Start Cooking" until the pre-heat is done or enter the steps manually on the grill when pre-heat is complete Cook time about 1.5 hrs with grill @225 & probe set for 135 .. then the reverse sear steps which was about 25 more minutes. PERFECTION!
