Accurate and easily visible glass scale.
Accurate and easily visible. Compared scale to gage blocks, several precision steel rulers, and the reticle in an old shop microscope. It does what it says, and the dimensions appear good. My limits for detecting error visually will be about 0.01mm. These scales are definitely at least that accurate -- and from the looks, I'd be surprised if they aren't micron accurate, though I don't have the ability to positively confirm that. The reticles appear perfect at 40x magnification.

Did exactly what I needed
I wanted to compare a few digital microscope resolutions to my optical field scope and loupes, and draw some tick marks on one of the monitors for measurement at maximum resolution. I've never owned one of these slides before but the print quality on it is decent, no scratches, and it did exactly what I needed. An aside - it's clear after using this slide that the Chinese digital microscope manufacturers are grossly inflating the resolution numbers on their scopes.

Very inexpensive
Most microscopy targets are pretty expensive, this one isn’t bad and is much cheaper.

This works far better than I thought it would.
A very good tiny ruler for spores, and Bryophytes.

Versatile for low magnification purposes
This is a calibration slide for low magnification microscopes. It is a glass slide printed with 2 straight division measures (0.1 mm and 0.01 mm) and 2 dots (0.15 mm and 0.07 mm). The printing appears to be a form of silver oxide. The slide comes wrapped in tissue paper in a hard plastic hinged box padded with foam on both top and bottom. I have found this slide quite useful for documenting plant tissues with my dissecting scope. It is easy to use and the workmanship is quite good. The printing is clear and it has not rubbed off with use. The packaging is great for protecting the slide. Overall, this is a good choice for home or school microscopy.

Part of my work involves the regular servicing and maintenance of both stereo optical and compound research microscopes around our company's sites. For re-calibration purposes, I use a range of very good (but expensive) calibration plates and slides from several optical suppliers and manufacturers. I was interested in testing this relatively inexpensive item against the equipment I regularly use.... This slide comes securely held in a protective plastic case, nestled between sheets of foam. Unwrapping the slide, i was surprised at how thin it was - but that simply means one must be a little more careful than normal when using it. For optical calibration purposes in our lab workshop, this slide proved just as good as anything else I already use - a remarkable performance for what is very much a 'budget' item.... I spent a whole day using this across a range of tasks on a variety of optical equipment - and checked each result against the standard calibration plates we normally use. Highly recommended thanks to its optical performance and excellent value !
