Mounted it on a board like the Polynesians do. Used it today and worked great, not as fast as them. i must consider wearing a glove as the learning curve I slipped a few times and fortunately did not cut myself. Beware it’s sharp. The board is placed on bench or chair, sit on it and scrape away

I bought this one and another brand just in case. This blade is made of a little bit thicker gauge metal so it’s not flimsy and doesn’t feel cheap compared to the other blade I bought which was barely thicker than sheet metal. Also the screws that came with this one are longer to help secure the blade better compared to the other brand. It only took a few days for me to get my blade all the way in Hawaii. Had some scrap 2x12 lumber laying around that I used to make my coconut scraper stool. Took about 1-2 hours to make with simple power tools (jig saw, sander, circular saw, and a drill).

An excellent product and worth buying. Grates coconut so well and in good length to go deep into the shell. The only con is that’s it’s not brushed SS, so that it gets lot of visible scratches.

Perfect and correct

The three screw holes are really tiny to give good support. Front screw position should be at least 2 inch away from the front grating jaw to allow the blade to touch the bottom of the coconut half.
