Tuna pantry staple for many meals
This tuna is high-quality and delicious. I have suggested to multiple people to add this to their subscribe and save orders, as we do. The price beats any grocery store price and tuna is an excellent pantry staple. We use them to make tuna rice bowls for a quick lunch or dinner (one can per person) or tuna pasta for dinner. It is nice that you can open the can without a can opener. I love that these are sustainably caught and with no added salt. One can is a perfect portion for an adult serving. They also make great tuna salad.

As Described Tuna, Delicious! Updated on January11, 2026
Pro: This is as healthy as Tuna gets, simply because they are smaller when pole caught and haven't accumulated as much mercury as the older larger tuna have. Their Wild Caught Salmon is sourced the same way and in less contaminated seas. Pollution is a reality in our world, but we at least have a better choice with Wild Planet. Minimally processed, cooked in the can with the juices still preserved in the can, no salt added, no oils. Pure fish, no additives or artificial dyes. Taste the difference. Please don't drain the juices in the can, allow the juice to be mixed back into the fish, and then it will be moist, not dry. I do add organic spices like Dill weed, sometimes mashed avocado, fresh diced celery and a few green or black chopped olives to taste and skip the bread. It's incredibly satisfying and I eat the whole thing in one serving. It also comes in an easy to open pull top lid so you don't need a can opener, just a small bowl to remix the juices with the hand packed tuna. I find it easier to use a fork than a knife or spoon to minimize the splash from tuna juice when you put it into a small bowl. Enjoy! Con: Nothing that isn't a problem with everything we eat compared to hundreds of years ago. I like tuna and salmon in my diet several times a week, no skin or bones and no salt, water, oils, or additives to either the salmon or tuna. This albacore is the best, mild taste and I can use fresh herbs and add whatever I'm in the mood for each time. Pickle, olives, celery, or simply in the bowl with a fork to integrate the juice for a protein treat. It isn't a beef steak type, but it IS solid tuna and somewhat difficult to separate it from the can and that's a good thing! Updated on January11, 2026: I really wanted to support this company but the price increased $7.00 for the same product from the last time on Subscribe & Save. I can't keep up with that extreme inflation. I'll have to watch for future sales opportunities that happen a few times a year instead of S&S now. Still one of the Best Safe Wild Albacore Tuna commercially available.

Very Fresh Tasting
I have read some articles on this brand before several times but figured it's just tuna fish. My "Other" brand i got two weeks ago had a few cans that were "Fishy" smelling (going bad), but the expire date was next year. I didn't get sick or anything, but I was like "This should not smell like this" and.... That led me to try this brand and I'm very happy I did because It Tastes so much better, no smell. Old fish or going bad fish, not kept at the right temperature fish gets a smell to it and you know its on its way out, that's what I had in my previous can of tuna fish (another brand I won't mention). This brand of tuna i had some out of the can which I never do, and it was good right out of the can. I could not do that with the other brands of tuna fish I used to buy, it was the taste that threw me off. This Wild Planet Tuna Fish is well worth getting and I got the "No Salt" added which I prefer because I'm on a low salt food. I would Highly Recommend this product if you wanted good tuna fish.

Really Good
Someone at the grocery store recommended this product and this is really the best tuna I have ever eaten. This was a good value and I will be purchasing it again. You almost do not need to drain at all, so you could easily take it camping or hiking. It also was very good in a pasta tuna salad.

tasty albacore, in chunks, not large fillet, better than most water canned tuna
very little water, good flavor, not as dry as some, better flavor than most, still dry like most water-packed albacore. Tuna was chunked and not in one fillet so not as high quality of a fish piece as I have seen. I was not blown away but then I am not by water-packed albacore anymore since I have gone back to eating primarily oil-packed yellowfin. That is the taste of real tuna in my opinion. I can see that this is superior to most water-packed tuna but it is not something I would ever pay for again, You can't just a this out of the can like you can a quality Yellowfin in olive oil. Tuna should be preserved in olive oil.

Fresh Taste and Great Quality
Tastes fresh and has a nice, firm texture. Perfect for sandwiches, salads, or quick meals—great quality and not too fishy.

Truly the BEST!!!
Short Version: Wild Planet albacore tuna is THE BEST - you will love it. Long Version: I was shopping for necessities during the pandemic at Costco. They re-configured the warehouses during that time (aisles blocked off in strange ways) and the checkout lines wrapped around the store. Because of all this, one became bff's w their fellow masked check-out line neighbor (having over an hour+ to chat). I noticed that the woman next to me had shed-loads of Wild Planet tuna in her cart so I asked her about it. She raved and raved. I explained that for no apparent reason, I had become intolerant of commercial albacore tunas (all brands - BumbleBee, Chicken ofthe Sea, Starkist, etc caused weird GERD symptoms)?! I can eat whole habaneros so this didn't make sense. But, it meant that I could no longer buy canned tuna. I don't know what these companies are doing to their albacore but it is a BAD way to process tuna! Tuna that causes esophageal burning after consumption?! She said that the weird GERD/acid reflux that other commercial tunas trigger will NOT happen w Wild Planet. I still didn't add any to my cart, though. Once I got home, I saw that I had paid for a 6-pack of Wild Planet no-salt albacore (haha - this woman snuck it into my cart without my noticing). She was right. Seriously - Wild Planet tuna is THE BEST. I have become a convert and now I buy Wild Planet in bulk. Other companies are making attempts to emulate Wild Planet (some even use the same cannery - like Natural Catch tuna) but none of them can compare to Wild Planet since WP tuna is cooked once, in the can and other companies cook + process tuna 2+ times (and use weird chemicals). I tried Natural Catch but it was rubbery and bad. Buying by the case translates into a budget-friendly price (like $3.50 or less p can). Great price. No-carb. Low-fat. High-protein. Delicious solid tuna steaks. Healthy. Sustainably poll line-caught. This is a great company! If I could sneak a can of Wild Planet albacore into your Amazon cart, I would! I know that you would love it. That goes double for any who are experiencing strange GERD symptoms after consuming commercial canned tunas - this one won't cause acid reflux.
