A simple, easy to read timepiece for those that find themselves constantly on the go. Review: A very nice Automatic Watch - This watch is solid, and looks terrific. As a result, I replaced the strap wuth a blue "Getalia Italian leather Watch Band Tuscany Natural Vegetable-Tanned Full Grain Genuine Leather" which I purchased on desertcart. I really wasn't going to buy another timepiece, but after I saw this and watched a couple of Youtube videos, I couldn't stop myself from pulling the trigger. First off the watch has terrific wrist presence with its 42mm diameter and 22mm lug width. The gold and white lume position markers and bold inlaid numbers at 12 and 6 o'clock make this dial really pop. It's one of most legible I've ever owned. I went for the hunter green dial which is a very nice and subdued shade, and I think the most eye catching of the colors offered on this model. The supplied brown alligator strap is decent enough but I swapped it out for a Benchmark Basics cognac leather strap, which totally pops against the stainless case. The watch is powered by Orient's proven F6922 automatic movement which you can see beating under the mineral glass case back. The crystal is also mineral, which I don't think will be a problem with its low flush profile. The one thing I wish Orient had thought of here is a screw down crown, like their Outdoor Watch model. With a 100 or 200 meter water resist rating, this watch would be just about perfect. Maybe they can fix that on the Commuter II. As it is, the well balanced styling on this piece hits the sweet spot between a sports watch and a modernish dress watch. No reason you can't wear it with a suit and tie, or jeans and a tee. The 13mm case height also means it doesn't sit on your wrist like some big hockey puck of a tool watch. The whole presentation is bold yet restrained at the same time. Another winner from Orient. Get one before it's discontinued.

Made in Thailand version, not Japanese movement
Looks like Amazon ships the made in Thailand version of this watch. The overall quality looks uncompromised from the outside, but this basically defeats the purpose of buying an Orient. I'm returning this product without using it and giving it 4 stars because I expect an authentic Japan movement Epson machine inside an Orient watch, not their made in Thailand versions.

Very nice piece.
I haven't bought anything but books on amazon, I must say that I got my orient commuter this week, after just 10 days. The delivery was perfect, no damages, well packed. It comes inside of a rigid black box with a soft pillow. I think it is all-occassion watch (i.e. casual, dressy, sporty). Blue lines and stitches on the leather strap are well-defined, I mean, the strap doesnot look cheap at all as some reviewers had mentioned (I must wait for its endurance, of course). The case is not small, but not too big, I have attached a picture with my orient mako XL just as a size reference. Blue dial makes a beautiful contrast with the numbers and time indicators of pale luminous green. Lume is spectacular, and the second hand movement seems ceaselessly uniform, not that kinda step-by-step mechanism. Very good piece for the affordable price.

Beautiful watch love it , i think only bracelet is not that good quality but other than that you will not regret watch looks classy and elegant 100% , i was thinking to buy similar Seiko but Orient looks better and more classy , Japan quality also …

Que pena , terrible reloj, primero te venden como un reloj deportivo japonés y es deTailandia, no tiene lumen , si no lo estas usado se detiene y tienes que estar igualando cada día tanto la hora como el día

Good accuracy .
Nice looking watch, accuracy is +4 seconds the first day, that is excellent for automatic in this price range, the band is not good enough, I replaced it. overall, satisfied with my purchase.

El reloj superó mis espectativas, me parece un buen precio por la calidad que se recibe, el estensible es lo único que no va con el, pues se siente de material plástico en su exterior y no piel, la parte interna es piel, tiene buena visibilidad durante la noche, aunque a veces es bueno ponerlo un momento bajo alguna luz por unos minutos para que sea visible toda la noche, leí que esa pintura es de Seiko is es muy buena,veste es mi primer reloj automático y definitivamente espero comprar más de la marca oriente.

Beautifully designed and interesting automatic watch by Seiko. Slightly too big otherwise excellent.

The watch arrived in perfect condition with seals on in a beautiful case. It looks and feels amazing. The strap on the watch I received is good looking and feels high quality. Inside the box under the pillow you have an international warranty card with all service centers and a detailed user manual. It even tells you how to use your watch as a compass for North and South hemisphere... Couldn't be happier with the looks and quality of this accurate watch. For me it suits all occasions as I am not a collector and all I was looking for a good mechanical/ automatic watch that's reliable. My 30 years old Seiko is out for an overhaul, and to be honest I think I like the Orient better... the green dial and golden numerals look very pleasant.
