The Ocean Of Truth: The Story Of Sir Isaac Newton Review: an ocean of great info - I homeschool my 8 year old son. When he was seven I read this book to him. This book is about the complete life of Isaac Newton and it is written in a conversational way. Not fact after fact but an easy flow of "story" about his life from his very early childhood until his death. What a wonderful way to learn about somebody - as if someone who knew him was telling you about him ,from a personal knowlege. This could definitly be for a much older child. I think I would use this for even an 8th or 9th grader. P.S. I wondered if my son would remember anything of the man. The book is written so well that my son will still bring up things about Sir Issac Newton when we are study the solar system or gravity or being knighted. Review: Read the book and also listened to audiobook - We have read this book as part of our Ambleside Online school work and it is a favorite of all three of my children. Joyce has written a beautiful story and you really get a sense of Newtons life, especially his childhood and the things that inspired him. We also had the opportunity to listen to the audiobook and Mike is a wonderful reader. I was very happy with the purchase and would recommend it.

Great, simple biography
As I studied Newton’s laws of motion with my kids I found Newton himself to be somebody I’d like to know more about, particularly his faith. I found this book to be interesting and informative but thankfully not dry.

satisfied homeschooler
Great biography for children of a brilliant and deeply religious man that has influenced the world for good inventing both calculus and the reflecting telescope both of which continue to be in use into the modern era.

Love history. This good man a genius.
The book was very easy to read. I loved it as I love reading about our history and the good men who gave us such opportunity to excel. Our young generations need to learn of Isaac Newton.

Really good book covering the life and death of Sir Isaac Newton. Newton was a very godly man who gave credit to God for all things. This book is a must have.

I was really looking forward to using this book with my kids for homeschool believing it would give a portrait of a man for whom faith and science are not at odds. However, Newton believed that Jesus was a created being and he dabbled in the occult. This book however ignores these problems and presents him as a faithful Christian. So I’m either going to have to use this with heavy caveats, or find a secular book that ignores his spiritual life.
