Quality is going downhill.
Not sure what is going on with the quality of the elmhurst chocolate oatmilk. But I have been buying this for years. This last order was delivered with the box taped up. Which makes me think the cartons fell out onto a dirty floor and then repacked. But then one of the cartons when I went to shake it up sounded like something was thick and solid floating inside. Absolutely disgusting. I didn't even want to open it. I had to toss out all 6 cartons.

Love this Oat Milk - Good story and Company
First of all, I just want to say this is my favorite oat milk. It has all natural ingredients, and no additives and thickeners. I use it for my own lattes, in recipes, soups, oatmeal, and as for just about anything as a milk substitute. It mixes very well and much better than most nut milks when added to beverages. I did contact the company to ask if they would consider making an organic which is the only improvement I can recommend. They said right now they’re not able to do organic which seems strange to me as it’s not hard to buy organic oats. It must be a cost concern . Also, please note when reading the reviews that the reviews are mixed up for all of the different types of Elmhurst milks (nut, oat). For those who find it tasteless they may be used to the flavor of most oat milks which have a ton of added sugar, gellan and other gums and additives. For those who find it too sweet they also make an unsweetened version that is only three ingredients water, sea salt and oats. If you carefully put the cap back on and make sure it is tight I don’t have any issue with the caps leaking.. I also reuse the cartons to store water and homemade vegetable broth etc. I was happy to see they finally lowered the price to $41.99 for six which is still kind of expensive at seven dollars each. In the stores you can usually find them for between $4.50 and five dollars, but I guess it’s for shipping and convenience factor we are paying for. And to be honest it’s still cheaper as I can make 2 to 3 venti sizes lattes at home instead of spending $6.50 each at Starbucks! And overall I feel better now and I’m not ingesting a bunch of extra additives, gums and calcium citrate which is added to most other plant-based milk, especially to help with frothing. I also love supporting this company as they started as a dairy farm and switched to 100% plant-based milk‘s and now have an animal sanctuary for their former cows.. I am always happy to support compassion!

Best replacement for half-and-half
Best replacement for half-and-half that I have found. I have tried many brands of almond, oat, soy, and cashew milks and creamers. This is by far the best. Great texture and flavor when added to coffee. I do not even miss half-and-half anymore. Even better, this stays fresh for months (I also store my extras in the fridge to be safe). Compared the calories per ounce to another popular cashew creamer, and this has 4x the calories per serving. So I believe their claim that this has “5x the cashews”

I finally found it!
My history with milk has always been a love-hate relationship. I love it--it hates me. Creates serious digestive issues for me. I have tried all of the substitutes--almond, soy, coconut, and lastly, oat milk, but none of them solved the problem. Oat milk was my last endeavor, and over time, it cause a swelling of my stomach (which came on gradually), so I didn't notice it until it was pretty extended. I also hated ingesting all of those artificial gums and additives. I searched on Amazon and found Elmhurst milked cashews and thought it might be worth the try. WOW! It's great! Over the past two months the swelling in my stomach has gone down and I have no side effects. There are no artificial additives or gums. There's only five ingredients which means it's so much better for you. Kudos to Elmhurst. They have a loyal customer from now on. Couldn't recommend it more!
