Great reading. The print and paper quality is also excellent from vendor Cocoblu Retails in compare to other sellers who are selling a small sized print with too small fonts printed.

Although this is a great books you can't just straight away read and finish this , requires some prior knowledge about the concerned subject here

You can get an indirect insight of how consumerism works for political benifits. Content is not completely irrelevant to current media scenario but I think lots of things have changed in ways to influence general public decisions than how it was in back mid-late 20th century. I also liked the font.

I've heard videos of Chomsky, and over time I've come to understand the nature of propaganda in a lot of ways. Watching the disintegration of Indian TV media over the last decade has been eye opening and it's led me to try and understand this better. Today when there seems to be a new disinformation war between superpowers, it's a reason to read and reread this book. The systems of power haven't changed much.

This book shows the real face of the world which is hidden by media, means how media is making us to consume more and more useless data. They use women as a carrot and we(consumers) arejust like ass.😂😂😂😂

It is a book one should read in order to understand the media and its motives. It is a great book.

Great book

Everytime a student of any discipline comes your way and asks about the driving force that is responsible for people being inspired to any political ideology. This is the book you must recommend. A delight to read and re-read.

Arrived in great condition! Haven't read it yet. I am looking forward to doing so, obviously Chomsky is one of the greats!

This is the classic work published by Edward S. Herman and Noam Chomsky in 1994 that explains how the function of the news media is to manufacture political consent rather than to report actual news. This is not to say that the media do not report news, but what they report or don't report—and how it is reported—depends largely upon whether or not it works to manufacture public consent to the "narrative" (as it's called nowadays) being pushed by national governments. The subtitle of the book is "The Political Economy of the Mass Media" suggesting in part that the behavior of those media is in large part money-driven. This was not a new idea when the book was written; it's value lies rather in the nature and depth of the authors' analysis. It is definitely worth reading, although the situation has worsened considerably since 1994, largely in the degree to which the corporate media resort to outright lying rather than "creative distortion and selectivity" compared to the days of yore; they are evidently driven to this by the extraordinarily and insanely fantastic—and therefore inherently fragile—nature of the "narrative" which it is currently their mission to defend. It's a shame that Chomsky is now 96 years old, because we need a new book that goes on for where Manufacturing Consent left off and he's probably too tired of it all to write it.
