We used it on a recliner that is fully functional but had several worn spots and one specific tear that occurred recently in the leather. What you are seeing is one of 4 places that we used this product. Very easy to cut. Is about 1/8th “- 1/16th” very thick. Easy to peel. And sticks in place immediately. So be sure to center it where you want it and press from the middle out to ensure a nice seal as it seals immediately and isn’t going to unpeel easily for any repositioning. Note: I don’t think it is made for corners or small strip areas where you need to curve around something. It needs a larger coverage area to be most effective. Cut too small and like ANY adhesive tape it hasn’t got enough space to cling to. But that isn’t a product problem. It is a note about sticking to small areas. Before finding this product we could only find colored brown duct tape. (i know. Sounds tacky in more than one sense. And in truth, the duct tape wasn’t very tacky and only lasted long enough to keep the tear from ripping further until we got this product. Too bad because the color of the duct tape was perfect). BUT, this product is OUTSTANDING and very easy to use in EVERY WAY. The only thing that would have made it perfect would have been to have more color choices closer to the color of the leather we have. I think there are 3 colors. This one is dark brown as you see. But it will last a long time. Note, too that the amount you get is exactly as stated. So it isn’t a huge amount. But was definitely enough to get our job done with a bit left over. .SUGGESTION: Be sure to round the corners SLIGHTLY as you cut of the pieces. You can see in our picture what I mean. It sealed beautifully. I read this tip on another product about using tapes, etc. The reason is that if the corners on any tape are left sharp or pointy they are more likely to catch and will not last as long. Final Statement: I WILL DEFINITELY BUY THIS PRODUCT AGAIN. A+++

I used this on a driver-side door interior elbow-rest surface on a 2003 Infiniti i35. I made the repair without taking the door apart, by first making a template using some adhesive clear plastic roll film (24" wide roll normally used as carpet and floor protection during home remodeling). I pressed the adhesive film into place, and took a new exact-o knife pen and carefully cut the plastic without cutting the armrest underneath. Once I had the plastic template cut, I peeled it off the armrest area and re-stuck it to the MastaPlasta which I had taped down to a piece of cardboard. I then used another new exact-o blade and cut out the MastaPlast material, then peeled off it's backing, and carefully applied it to the armrest area, working the outer perimeter in place first, then pressing into place inwards toward the door, finally tucking in to the crevice where the armrest meets the door. Worked out beautifully. I did a similar repair to the center console lid on the same car. I highly recommend this product, others I tried were just not sticky enough ( I was able to use contact cement, ultimately) and were not as robust as the MastaPlasta material.

Color wasn't a perfect match, but it's sticky.

I have purchased other Self-Adhesive leather Repair products for my leather chair, and I end up throwing them away because all of the edges curl up EXCEPT FOR THIS ONE! MASTAPLASTA IS ABSOLUTELY THE BEST! YOU NEED TO BE PATIENT WHILE APPLYING BECAUSE IT ADHERES INSTANTLY AND THERE IS NO CURLING ON THE EDGES! I am so happy with this purchase and it looks smooth and beautiful! Good price for an excellent product.

Love this for patching my suede duster, also works great on the heels of my crocheted slippers too prevent holes.

Nothing can be more frustrating than to notice that your leather couch or vehicle seat is showing extreme wear or even a tear. All you can think is... THIS IS GOING TO BE EXPENSIVE TO FIX! I have a leather couch and one day notice it had a small tear in one of it's cushions. These cushions have a pillow type top so they're not able to be just flipped over. Searched online for a solution and came across "MastaPlasta Self-Adhesive Premium Leather Repair Patch". I figured I had nothing to lose, so I ordered it. It's simple to make the repair and it's been years now with no signs of giving out! I decided to order a roll of the stuff to keep around for "JUST INCASE" the worst happens again. I highly recommend this product after the experience and results I've had.

The first time I purchased this product (in 2023) it was highly flexible and made of what felt like a nice faux-suede that was a near-perfect match to my sofa (which is made from bomber jacket-like real leather). However, my most recent purchase (2025) the color was not only too dark, the material was stiff and slick, and not at all a good match. It still works, but it's not what I was expecting to get -- the back is incredibly sticky, so be careful when you apply it, because you can't really remove it and you need to make sure you get it correct the first time.

Used this to patch a torn motorbike saddle. So far so good. I live in Florida, it is very hot and the sun beats on it. We sit on it, ride on it. It settled a bit after 1st install but, it’s been a couple of weeks and, it has not budged. Looks really good. From a couple feet back it is virtually invisible. Very sticky, prep well before placing you will not be able to unglue, reglue once installed.

This has a strong adsorption force and a strong sense of fixation. It would have been great if the size was a little bigger.

NOT really matching the leather, it is not streatching at all and not flexible as the leather (used on car seat). Doesn't work well on places with high use load, ok for fixing some accidental damages.

usato per ricoprire i braccioli di una sedie da scrivania con i braccioli in pelle ormai consunti. buona aderenza, un po' difficile da far aderire sulle parti rotonde ma nel complesso, con un po' di manualita' si riesce a far aderire alla parte.

I was worried I was going to replace my L shaped sofa as though it was still in good condition, the sun had damaged and weakened a couple of places and I was on the verge of having to fork out for another one. But Amazon supplied this great tape that looks like leather and has a great sticking power in Black. It was so easy to apply and you would honestly not know where the repair was. My sofa looks as good as new. Worth every Penny and would hight recommend.
