Algebra I: Grades 6-8 (Kumon Math Workbooks) Paperback – July 15, 2014

This is the best book I've found if you want actual, challenging algebra. The other ones I've found tend to be more of a pre-algebra that preps students for pre-algebra or algebra. This one feels more like actual algebra. Great supplement to an algebra class, but even better for preparing a student for algebra the summer before they take the class. Probably ideal to have a tutor or parent with algebra knowledge to help with some of the tougher concepts, but it would be very rewarding for a student to use this book to learn it on their own.

This is my SECOND book of the same edition. My son is autistic and fell in love with math again. He has such a hard time with it in general in school, but the Kumon books, he loves, and justifies asking for more than one by saying its "practicing and timing him now"!! Awesome!Wish there were 6 stars!

I love kumon workbooks. This book introduces basic algebraic concepts. You will need to provide extra guidance to your child as concepts are not always clearly explained. There are so many problems to work through; this is the main reason I buy the workbooks. They are inexpensive. The under 80-page format keeps it from being too burdensome.

Kumon was a great, commonsense approach to teaching math. Now, it is Common Core aligned and therefore not just useless but infuriating. I could not understand why the problems in this workbook were so different from previous Kumon materials. Then I saw it, Common Core aligned.

I've been a fan of Kumon workbooks for the last 5 years. This Algebra workbook provides a thorough practice for my daughter this summer entering the 8th grade. Each page provides tips and an answer guide is provided. She has definitely been challenged by the problems. I recommend this as a great supplemental guide to parents.

Nice workbook, good for Review. Esp. like the clear and easy examples they show along with the text and answer key in back.

Good product

My 11 yo son took prealgebra last year, so I got both vol 1 & 2 to get him ready for algebra 1 during the summer. He found them to be more or less a review of prealgebra with a few new concepts he had not seen before. I wish it was a little more challenging.
